Attraction's most memorable quotes

I think my favorite line of all has to be from the preshow at Cranium Command.

"Hey, you goldbricks, this ain't a spectator sport! Where do you think you are? DISNEY WORLD?!?!! Get your strollers in line and hustle! On the double! Move it, move it, move it!"

Spaceship Earth: "Like a grand and miraculous spaceship, our planet has sailed through the universe of time, and but for a brief moment we have been among its many passengers."

Robo will probably nail me on that one since the narrator is rumored to be changing... :) But, that opening line gets me every time.

Studios, Muppetvision, Sam the Eagle: "It's called a salute to all nations, but mostly America."

"Now Approaching....Space mountain" [said in futuristic semi-robotic voice]

Wow.
I hate to keep bringing the "bad news in quotes" but THAT one is apparently gone (along with the entire Ms. Jobson character.)

I have not actually ridden KS since May of this year, but they have reportedly, since that time, made major changes in the spiels (live and recorded) on the Safari.
This quote, in particular, was singled out by posters as being eliminated.

:sad1:

I rode it a little over a week ago. Ms. Jobson and the quote are gone. :wave2:

BTM "Wildest ride in the Wilderness."

That's how I heard it 10 days ago. :confused3 I love that one

It is still there, but its CHANGED.

The original version was CLASSIC! (It think it was burned into my brain.)

They re-recorded it when they added the spanish language warnings
and its just not got the same ZING of the old one.

I don't have the newer version here to compare, but...

The above link will allow you to download and hear the original (source) Pre-ride Speil and (after a pause) the Breakdown Speil.

I can't remember it exactly, but on TTA the one about "forward facing tentacles". Someone help me out please!

"Attention all visitors from Galaxy M31:

Please keep forward-facing tentacles clear of on-coming Metro-liner vehicles.

Thank You."

MK
Haunted Mansion: "Of course, there's always my way."
CoP: "It'll never work."
PotC: "Shift yer cargo, deary. Show 'em yer larboard side."

Not that it matters but just for the sake of accuracy it should be "starboard" side.

And the narrator on Spaceship Earth was once Charlton Heston, now it is Jeremy Irons (the voice of Scar in the Lion King as well as a phenomenal British Actor!). In case you wanted to know why he gave you goosebumps, he is just that good!

This one, I'm not absolutely sure off but I don't remember Charlton Heston doing SSE, I do remember Walter Cronkite was before Jeremy Irons. He was just that good as well.

On our video of Spaceship it is deffinitely Charlton Heston. I would recognize the Moses growl anywhere! And I know Cronkite did the Animation Tour but I had no idea about Spaceship Earth! :thumbsup2

The "Moses growl" must belong to someone else. ;)

We all know that Wikipedia can be wrong, but in this case it backs up what I have heard over the years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaceship_Earth_(Disney)

In October of 1982, the attraction originally... featured actor Vic Perrin as the narrator...

In May of 1986... Famous news journalist Walter Cronkite was the new narrator...

In August of 1994... Actor Jeremy Irons was the new narrator...

Oh okay, thanks. Sorry for the misinformation!

Was there any 1 line or memorable quote you can remember in CoP? The purpose of this was to post a line that comes to mind when someone talks about that attraction, or vice versa. If you really did have the welcoming message from CoP in your head, then I'm sure there could be one part in one of the scenes that really stood out for you.

SSE one is fine, a bit long to really remember off the top of your head, but works well.

I'm surprised you've added one for HOP, just for that, you get a smiley with some pompoms :cheer2:

The opening of CoP is actually what I think of every time (ok, other than the song), but how about this one instead: "Well, that's progress for you."

Sorry mine were long, but Spaceship doesnt really have any short lines in the narration.

Oh, and I LOVE  both the American Adventure and HoP, so those are absolutely quotable for me.

This has got to be the best show ever done! I just love every little thing that makes Cranium Command, including the chicken going into law, classic :lmao:

Length isn't really that much of an issue, it's just whether or not it's a memorable quote and it is, most definately memorable, even if we can only remember a fragment of it. I can see why anyone would love American Adventure, but I'm just wondering, what do you see in HOP? Is it because it showcases all the presidents all together, or because it's somewhat patriotic? Nothing wrong with liking HOP, I'm just wondering what you see in it that most others don't.

I think I love HOP and AA for the same reasons. Both are really well done, and both took a lot of work on the imagineers part. In HOP the attention to detail in the presidents is absolutely amazing- right down to the hand movements and head tilts. I think it's really important to honor America (speaking as an American) whenever we can, so HOP and AA are important to me. I was alwyas taught that whether or not you like who's "in charge" you stand by your country as a whole since a lot of people have made the ultimate sacrifice for you to live here. I think that there are actualyl a fair number of people that like HOP- kind of like a secret following; my whole family and DBF asolutely love it. I have always loved it- form the first time I saw it at age 8. I guess I can't pinpoint what it is, I just love it for what it is. It gives me chills every single time  Sorry I kind of got off topic- it happens to me form time to time

I get chills from HOP whenever I walk by it, but that's from the wonderful air conditioning :thumbsup2 Ok, maybe you experience different chills that I don't, that's cool that you enjoy it. Peronsally I think it's a great way to catch a 30 minute nap in AC. But American Adventure, on the other hand, was really well done. I always enjoy how well done it is, it even brings a little tear to my eye towards the end because it delivers a powerful emotional punch with the music and the panaromic view :woohoo: (yes, I have done this dance during the finale when I was in 4th grade, but I won't get into that) Ok, now I'm getting off topic. Back to quotes!

Actually, I think Jenelope was correct. The correct term would of course be "starboard", but it has always sounded like "larboard" on the Pirates ride to me.

Actually, I think Jenelope was correct. The correct term would of course be "starboard", but it has always sounded like "larboard" on the Pirates ride to me.

That's because "larboard" IS the correct word used in the attraction.

"Larboard" (left side of the boat) means the opposite of "starboard" (right side of the boat.)

But the old-world "larboard" term has be supplanted by the newer term "port."

It is likely because it was too easy to mistake one for the other in noisy conditions.

So in PotC "...show 'em your larboard side" is what the old-school pirate says.

In Haunted Mansion, we love it when they say "Drag your bodies to the DEAD center of the room" before they turn off the lights!:scared1:

I feel like I'm the "quote monitor." ;)

(And I'm really not trying to be, its just that I know these lines so well.)
:thumbsup2

That line is a very new "addition" to HM.
Its just something the CM's have added and its not actually a part of the attraction.
The CM "room-loaders" say it in adddition to the actual Ghost Host's line "kindly step all the way in please..."

(But I agree, that its a good line!)

And, if you'll remember, they don't turn off the lights after they say that.

The lights only go off after the line, "Of course, there's always MY way."

:)
