Hi all,
I booked everything through Thompson for 5th April 2014. I`m staying at CBR with my 3 sons aged 16, 12, and 6 for 14 nights. Today marks the 60 days out so I was hoping to select my FP+ rides. Neither Thompson or Attraction world seem co operative. Has anyone been able to get their Disney park reservation number from them or know of what I can do to get this. Many Thanks

You could try calling Disney directly and seeing if they can track your reservation with your personal details. The difficulty with Travel Agent bookings is that sometimes, they are not passed through to Disney Reservations Office until a certain date.

What is Thomsons telling you?

Here is the US number for the Central Reservations Office (CRO) 01 407-934-7639

First dial 0844 869 9900 (access number) and follow the prompts to make the call for 1 p per minute. Good luck :)

Thankyou for the advice. Thompson are clueless about anything Disney so are doing their best but Attraction world are saying they are awaiting meetings with Disney about adding fp+ to tickets so cant pass on any info until said meeting has happened. I explained that as long as I`m staying onsite with valid park tickets I can book everything myself today but they don't seem to understand, probably because its all so new to everyone. Will try your suggestions and let you know how I get on. Fingers crossed. xx

Folk have had similar issues with other agents too and it all comes down to them being clueless.

You could try re-phrasing your question and asking them for the reference/confirmation number that Disney gave to them for your booking. I find often the agents can't answer because not only do they not have the info, but they don't even understand what it is that the customer is asking for.

Hopefully Disney sorts you out and saves you the headache. Let us know

By the way, welcome :goodvibes

So I phoned Disney and they were very helpful but couldn't give me my res no. because Attraction World haven't reserved my tickets yet. Then Thompson rep phoned and said roughly the same thing. She has passed my rumblings on to their Disney rep and she is phoning me tomorrow am. The worst case scenario is that Attraction World stick to the usual pattern of only sorting tickets 4wks before departure. If so I will try to cancel tickets with them and buy direct. Best case is Disney rep actually understands what I`m after and all`s well. Will let you all know the result which I hope will make it easier for all those travelling later in the year. Chat soon xx

Well at least you know where you stand. Don't fret too much just yet. Because FP+ is not open to everyone in advance just yet, even a couple of weeks out you should be fine. Who knows what will happen further down the line, but you're going early April and going by the latest rumors and announcements, I think you may well be safe :) Let us know how it all works out for you. :)

Is there any financial loss to be incurred by canceling the tickets and ordering through Disney?

I have just had a long conversation with a Thompson rep and am close to tears with frustration.
They claim
1) Attraction World are not in conjuction with Disney at the moment but are in talks soon. This may mean that in the future they will sign up for the new fp+
2) Attraction World tickets include fast pass automatically
3) I can not get a reservation number from them until I swap my voucher at the parks
4) You don't need a res no. only your room res no.
Only number 3 seems at all likely to be true and if so as I cant cancel my tickets without incurring a total loss of all money paid I am stuck and cant make fp+ choices until I reach Disney. aaaaargh!

We had the same problem with Thomas Cook on our last trip...this was before FP+ but I still wanted the reservation number so I could do the 180+10 ADR booking and put in a room request. I never managed to get the number from them and this put me off booking with a high street TA again. I think I'm going to book diy for our next trip.

The difficulty booking with travel agents is that they aren't Disney specialists. There are a few in the US who are Disney specialist travel agents and their staff are trained and kept up to date on all the ins and outs of a Disney vacation. We don't have that here. Our agents sell holidays and associated products. They don't have to know anything about the destinations because in all fairness, I don't think there are many that come close to the complexity of a Disney trip. But the bottom line is they aren't specifically selling Disney; they are selling you a holiday just like a Tenerife package, on the the final destination is in Florida. They don't have a clue.

OP have you been speaking to the agents or have you asked to speak with a manager?

4) You don't need a res no. only your room res no. Only number 3 seems at all likely to be true...!

HAVE THEY GIVEN YOU YOUR ROOM RESERVATION NUMBER? Because I believe number 4 is true for example I have not purchased any park tickets but because my email was attached to my room reservation it was found by my "my disney experience" account and within 180 days was allowed to customise my magic bands I am a short bit away from 60 days but I assume that i will get access to FP+ then.

Forgive me if you have already done this but anyone; with an email address to give, can sign up for an MDE. No invite or holiday booking required account turns out I had two already. (Because my details migrated from a go.com and a my disney rewards account.)

Once you are in there are options to attach a booking either by searching all bookings with your email or entering a room reservation number.

Hi thankyou again for all your comments. I have my room res no and have done all my ADRs and customised my magic bands. Everything is showing perfectly and for all of us correctly on MDE. Its just since I got to my 60 day point and tried to add FP+ choices that I`ve come unstuck. It says you are not eligible for FP+ as you don't have valid park tickets. It then asked for my park no and this is what Thompson cant get for me. I`m seeing them Monday and hope to be able to explain what I need then.
Bit of background. I have been saving since my youngest was 1, he is now 6. I`m always the turn up and go with the flow holiday maker but this is my once in a life time trip and I`m very excited about it. As my partner and I split up last year I`m going alone with my 3 boys 16, 12 and 6. 2nd wk there ends with the Easter wk end so I expect it to be busy. I do not want to plan every day, minute and second but just want the reassurance of getting some of the not to be missed done.
Will let you know how I get on and if anyone spots help in another thread please pass it on to here.

An after thought. At least I have boys and don`t need to meet any princesses or I would be pulling my hair out now. xx
