If this has already been posted, sorry but I was really excited!!
I was checking the disneyland website today, and it said it was down due to a server error. I thought, "I'll bet they are finally getting September's schedule released!"
Good and bad news:
Good news, looks like there won't be many crowds there.
Bad news: Because they are able to anticipate low crowds, not much will be going on. Fireworks will only be held on Friday and Saturday nights only in September (not even Sundays)...I was hoping that it was every day, but it is not..
And nothing much else is scheduled. fantasmic is only on the weekends, and one parade a day (weekdays). So it looks like to see the fireworks and Fantasmic, we will have to schedule our days around a weekend day.
Just a heads up for those fellow September travelers!

I am surprised of the schedule and the lack of times for fireworks, fantasmic and parades - schedule suggest low crowds expected but many hotels are booked out (and have been for sometime) when we will be there between 15 - 21 Sept??? I hope you are right about the low crowds but where would all the people be going if the hotels are booked out??

September and October are big convention months in Anaheim, so the hotels could be full due to that.

Perhaps they weren't able to get Anaheim to let them do the fireworks on school nights as they were expecting? Remember generally they aren't allowed to run fireworks on school nights, but were trying to get an exemption for this year. The press release clearly stated that they ould run nightly throughout the celebration, so not quite sure how that will work out for them, as that could be considered false adevertising and I have said so in an e-mail to them, I am wondering what thier response will be. As for Fantasmic, that is normal for that time of the year as it is for the PArade, but I would expect to seed sadded shows "due to overwhelming demand".

I also noted that the Electrical Parade does not seem to be scheduled in September at this time. My family and I were kind of hoping to see it since we have never seen it, but we listen to the techno "Electrical Parade" song in our car frequently.

Oh well, we are just so excited to be going at all and will totally enjoy everything else so much we probably won't miss it.

Though I know that there are no guarruntees about the usual smaller crowds during September with the 50th celebration going on, we specifically booked for September with the chance that crowds would be a little lighter. When I saw the post here that all the Disney hotels were booked for the time frame we are going, Sept. 21-25th, I was getting kind of worried about large summer like crowds. I'm still hoping for lighter crowds since someone in another post stated that it was convention time and that usually even with the hotels booked that it doesn't always transfer over to large crowds in the parks. I guess we'll see and enjoy when we get there.

I think the two likely "culprits" in this decision is A) being off season and attendance being much lower and B) SCAQMD (Southern California Air Quality Management District). I think in one of Al Lutz's Miceage articles, he detailed the whole process of how Disney (and other companies) get "Credits" to use during the year for air pollution. If they go over that, they start getting fined. On the flip side, they can "earn" more credits by doing things to help lessen pollution in the air. i.e. having people carpool to work together.

During the holiday season, Disneyland has run the holiday fireworks nightly so, the school nights thing isn't an issue. I was hoping for more fireworks this year but, not surprised that we're getting the same amount as the past years.

Sdenote, the Electric Parade is supposed to be undergoing and extensive refurb.

I too was susprised to learn that the fireworks and electrical parade would not be showing nightly in later months (our trip is in mid-November).

Which email address did you use to contact Disney? Perhaps if a few of us voice our opinions, they'll give it some more thought! :grouphug:

I had printed off the schedule for the first week of Oct and the Parade of Dreams is nightly at 7:00pm and the Block Party Bash is nightly at 5:15pm
then on Friday the Parade of Dreams is at 3:15pm and 7:00pm and the fireworks and fantasmic

We are arriving on a Sunday. Sorry to see no fireworks (yet:)) or ELP but so happy to see 2 Fantasmic showings.
