Attire???

I get kind of dressed up for CG just because I like to - a dress and my boys wear chinos and polo shirts. In November I wore khaki capris and a nice shirt at Narcoosees and felt completely comfortable.

I was in jeans as well as another gentleman at our table and didn't feel out of place at all CG. There were people in shorts, too.

For Narcoossee's next weekend, though, my gf and I will dress up a bit as we'll have more time to get ready for the meal this time. :)

Quite a few people go straight from the parks, so the attire really runs the gamut. I wore a simple dress and DH wore chinos and a hawiian shirt and we both felt appropriately dressed

The official dress code from the Disney Dining Plan Brochure:

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short- or long-sleeved shirt with a
collar or t-shirt required. Jackets are optional.

Ladies: Jeans, skirt, or dress shorts with blouse, sweater or t-shirt, or a dress required.

Not permitted: tank tops, swimsuits or swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut offs,
or torn clothing of any kind.

I wear capris and a nice top. My DH wears jeans and a polo and sneakers. I think you can wear shorts as long as they are nice. There is a list on Disneys website of what you can't wear.

For Signature Restaurants we always freshen up before dinner. We do NOT wear our park clothes. The dress code is business casual, but they are very lenient in enforcement. We just fell better spruced up a bit.
DH wears dress shorts and a sports shirt with collar, and leather sandals. I wear dress pants/capris, a nice blouse and dressy sandals.
We do not "dress up" excessively, but we do not go in park clothes either.

In our case it was no T-shirts and nice dress shorts but the reality is that absolutely everything goes when you are at Disney except at V&A.

At CG, I and boys wore dress pants and collared shirt, Wife and daughters wore dresses which they loved doing. CG is a NICE restaurant but not pretentious. You'll spend some money, so why not dress up just a bit. Try to book CG near the fireworks time at MK and go out and watch, but it can be breezy and cool on the observation deck.

.

This is the key. You can be as casual as a t-shirt and (nice-ish) shorts or dress up as much as you want. You will see the whole gamut. There will be someone more dressed up than you and there will be someone more casual. Have fun!

I know they say proper attire but I see shorts, sneakers and tee shirts. So I guess proper attire is whatever you feel is proper.

When making our July ADRs the CM said no tank tops at CG. Since DS, DD, and I usually wear such (DH wears sleeves) we'll stash a top change in our backpacks and switch just before going over. No biggie;)

As itchin2go suggests, focus on the "not permitted" list. Almost anything else is permitted and it really boils down to exactly how dressed up (or down) you want to get.

1) Yep, that isw what it says.
2) However, these guidelines are not enforced for any signature eatery.
3) Where whatever you want.

:thumbsup2 When we ate dinner at California Grill, DH and our boys wore khaki shorts and hawaiian-type collared shirt. I wore khaki capris and a collared shirt. DD7 wore a dress. However, I did see people wearing jeans and t-shirts too.

:wizard: The only restaurant I truly think has a "strict" dress code is Victoria & Albert's.
