I don't want to offend anybody, but have you noticed that several of the best live performers around the World Showcase have been replaced by not-so-great acts? :confused3

I miss Roland the Mime, magician Jay Wethington, Nova Era (I know, it's been years), Alberta Bound, and others.

I used to be able to go from one country to the next, enjoying great entertainment. Now, I find that there isn't all that much to hold my interest.

I do notice, not so much what's been replaced, as what's just plain gone! I was just looking at the archives on Steve Soars' site, and it seems there's a much longer list of "used to be" acts at Epcot than current acts. I especially miss Future Corps and the other brass band, many years ago, in Future World. This is one big difference I noticed at DL. Not only do they still have the Main Street Band, but they have so much more live entertainment everywhere in the park. The Main Street Band even does one turn on the Riverboat, playing New Orleans jazz the whole trip. That really adds to the ambiance! I saometimes feel I'm overly sensitive about this difference, but it's so apparent to me!

I may never recover from The Living Statues leaving. :sad1:

As time goes on, there will surely be more performers that "have been at" the World Showcase than there are current performers at any specific time. I remember a time when the World Showcase was not quite so rich in performances as it is today, and really appreciate how great that aspect of the park has become. I cannot wait for the opportunity to grab a Bass Ale with my brother and sit in the garden in England listening to the performers there.

I think we are getting lesser acts, now. I don't even think the Voices of Liberty are as good, anymore. They seem a little out of sync with one another.

We talked to several, veteran, cast members at Epcot and for that matter other parks, too and the trend with everything is on the decline sad to say.

Disney is still enjoyable, but it was better in the past.

When we were there 4 years ago, there were some Chinese acrobats that we loved watching. A couple of weeks ago, we were there and the sign said they were coming on at 2:15 and we waited and waited. they never did show up. That also happened at the animation studio in MGM. My daughter wanted to watch the animator and we were told he just didn't show up for work. :confused3 It seemed that WS had very little--except street comedians and I remember the street stuff being my favorite before. so sad.
