Just a thought if you're sailing in the next couple of weeks--don't wait if you are interested in booking this. The repo cruises increased in price hourly when they were first announced! If you want to book, do it now. THen see if you can get a discount while on board when/if you "rebook."
Of course, if you are lucky enough to be on the ship now....droooool....
We booked the 11 day cruise and no you do NOT receive the discount. The onboard discount only applies to 7 day cruises (at least that is what we were told). However, you do receive a $250 onboard credit vs $200.
We booked just hours after the announcement and "Danielle" was amazed at how fast the 11 day was being reserved.
we received the 10% and shipboard credit when we booked the 14 day repo while sailing this past January...... wonder if the rules changed since then...
Things seem to change once you get off the ship. When they had the special Antiqua cruises they offered a $400 stateroom credit for those sailings only & said that the discounts would NOT transfer if you changed your cruise date. Well, someone I knew switched to our cruise date last year & she DID get to keep the $400 credit. I think that is why people are able to transfer to those dates & keep the discount but have been told no on the ship. Another example of DCL's right hand not knowing what the left is doing.
Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone.
Just trying to bring info over from another thread in case the OP had not seen it.
The quote I posted was a direct response to the question above it about the onboard discount and stateroom credit.
Of course those of us who were online the day the repo cruises were announced remember all the controversy about whether the discounts could be used on special itineraries or not.
Unfortunately, it IS possible to get completely different answers to the same question... depending on who you talk to at DCL.
Now bowing out of this one since I don't want to cause problems and it does not affect me either way. No 10 or 11 day cruises for us in September.
Hope all of you able to sail on the special longer cruises have a GREAT time!
Well, that is how I read that post too since the person also posted this.
I just booked the 11 night for 2 adults and 1 3 year old. DCL price was $6220.57 without insurance or transfers. I transferred to Costco and got it for $5685.57. I saved $535!
Since she transferred her resie to a TA after transfering her cruise to the new date she wasn't with a TA before making this change. This is the complete quote from that post.
Do you think DCL will offer onboard discount and stateroom credit for this cruise? We'll be sailing next month. Thanks,
Angela
Yes, they let me transfer my discount and onboard credit from my Oct. 2006 sailing to this one.
It looks like once again it depends it depends on who you talk to at DCL. They are creating a big problem because for every person who is being allowed to transfer their rebooking benefits, there will be someone who was told no.
