Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

So correct me if I am wrong here, but would those that buy direct at the Cabins be low key genius if they do put LSL in the Trust? Given the heavy discount on the cabins right now, it would essentially be the same as buying direct at LSL if I understand how the trust works correctly?

Just the fact that its so massive and they need to sell all those rooms makes me think they have to do something really special.
IDK that DVC agrees. It sold SSR out and that isn't theme park adjacent. LSL has MK views and guides will push the fact you can book anything from AKV value studios to BWV grand villas with the points. The average buyer has no idea how difficult those accommodations are to book.

It depends... if LSL is declared into the same plan as CFW then yes, they're combined.

However, LSL can be activated into the same trust under a separate plan which is basically how everything operates now except you're not buying deeded interests in a specific unit, you're just purchasing a RTU.

I wonder if they were trying to sell SSR to people on the spa, woops 🤣🤣

Imagine someone buying thinking that they'll be rolled into one and then it doesnt pan out 😬

It looks like another standard hotel tower block just like most of the other recent new builds. Where has the imagination gone from Imagineering? Did it die with the Galactic Starcruiser?
I'll offer a counterpoint (that I don't entirely agree with)...

Most of the original DVC resorts are towers to some extent. OKW and SSR are the most notable exception. However, Disney worked very hard to not make them "feel" like towers, and instead created these absolutely sprawling resorts... This board has a thread about BWV that references in the title that people love the resort despite the ridiculously long hallways...

The new builds use their space much more effectively. Riviera's layout is much easier to understand, and much easier to make your way around. While the exterior space (in my opinion) is less of an architectural statement than say Beach Club/Yacht Club, in practicality, it is a much more functional resort.

What would have benefited Riviera is a similar layout but with the same level of detailing throughout the entire property. To me (and especially my wife) it is too "plain" or ordinary looking, compared to say the Hotel Del Coronado/Mackinac Hotel inspired design of the Grand Floridian main building...

I'd imagine they were... It is flabbergasting to me that Disney can only "operate" one spa on their entire property... and that they can make a Spa work in Vero, but couldn't have at least moved the location to DS for example... I guess between FS and Mandara there are three on property...

You might be right... Our guide who we initially toured with never really made us feel that way... The time we did a tour through BWV (do they still do that anymore?) That guy made us feel like you could stay there all the time for 9 or 10 points! Just depends on who you get.

I think you nailed it on the head with your tower examples, I agree with everything and the lack of elaborate themeing on some of the newer resorts is a bummer, but I do think they did good with vdh from what ive seen, the tour i did of the room felt very Disney to me, and we all know how I feel about PIT. I hope whatever theme they're rolling with for LSL really shines thru
