Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

Would there be any advantage to purchasing CFW now before there's any connection made to R2.0 or will it make no difference in getting in cheaper...assuming you wanted in on R2.0 and were assuming they made it part of same association/trust.
If you buy in now you will get a couple of extra years out of it because it will take a while for them to build and open the reflections tower. If they end up in the same sort of association or trust and end up sharing dues then your dues will be high until it opens and then may go down or stop increasing for a while.

But if it ends up being totally separate association for dues and everything then you will be locked into booking only the cabins at 11 months and have much higher dues.

If you love the cabins it and want to stay there for the next few years as well as long term then it could be good, but I would definitely just get the minimum number of points you would always end up using and no extra. Definitely not sleep around points with those dues.

If you are just wanting to get extra points on hand now but would prefer staying in whatever the reflections tower will be, then I would definitely wait until they at least confirm or deny what the reflections site will be and exactly how it will tie into the CFW.

If they don’t lump something in with the cabins, I think the resale value will be less than 20% of buy-in by 2030. That’s the risk.

Advantage? Hard to imagine anything meaningful.

If they lump the cabins with reflections the mf will still be high for reflections becaise of the cost of the fort cabins.

Higher, perhaps, than if the cabins were excluded, but likely less than the maintenance fees currently in place for the cabins themselves.

But shouldn't they even out like copper creek with cabins and poly with bungalows?
Aren't they significantly different? Reflections + CFW may always be $1-$2 higher than CCV and PVB?

Different scale: I believe there are 20 bungalows at PVB, 26 cabins at CCV, and 363 cabins at CFW.
CCV cabins and PVB bungalows have extremely high point charts to cover maintenance. CFW cabins are extremely low point charts for what is a 1BR which is why MFs are high.

I'm not assuming the FW cabins will be part of Reflections 2.0 anymore. And if they aren't, the cabins look like a worse deal than before except for the dog-friendly aspect if that applies.

If I have a contract choice between a Reflections waterfront cabin or an interior loop cabin (with views of other cabins), that will make a difference to me and worth the wait to figure it out.

Not for nothing, but the latter is probably 7X more expensive. Though avoiding CFW makes all the sense in the world, they aren’t running out of inventory or fixed weeks this century at this rate.

FWIW, it looks like the last of the pending crane FAA permits that were first reported last week were finalized today. I put together a summary of the verbatim language/terms from the permits below. Six mobile cranes, all of those lat/long coordinates are on/around the Reflections site.

Do you think they will announce at the annual meeting in December?
I don't want to wait to know if this is Reflections or an entirely different theme (hopefully at least a take on River Country). And most importantly, does it have a Lazy River??

If there’s nothing else there? Maybe.

Considering the contemporary and bay lake tower are really close and visible across bay lake, not so much.
Top floors probably have great views, but I'm thinking of the view from Boulder Ridge, or a CFW Cabin. lol

BRV apparently only goes to a 5th floor and the orientation is just ever so slightly ENE where the new site is more due E. I’m sure you’ll be able to see it from upper floor BRV on that side if you step onto the balcony and face it, but it might not be domineering either:

You’ll be able to see it from BRV, but mainly from upper floors on one half of the building, after going out on your balcony and looking to the right (the site is it the rightmost quadrant of that picture, I believe). You can also already see BLT from some of these same rooms (facing far to the left from your balcony sticking out a touch past WL).

CCV, in the south half of the building, if you’re far enough “out” to see past BRV then you’ll probably see Revenge of Reflections too.

CFW though? Probably not a chance you’d be able to see it through the trees.

I’m picturing just looking up and seeing it thru the tree tops.
Maybe 10 stories isn’t as tall as I think it is. :)

I generally agree with you, although I think it may be fair to say BRV upper floors are a little more 'head-on' to the site, roughly speaking. The devil for each room will likely be whatever the treeline is like in the +/- .4 miles of distance between the two, what the Reflections building tiering and ultimate landscaping/topography is, etc. But big picture, between CR, BLT, WL, BRV, Four Seasons in the distance, etc, Bay Lake is dotted with "buildings rising from the trees" and I think it will look great and be a nice addition to the Bay Lake skyline (in my humble opinion!).

Guess we'll see though! :-)
