Hope someone can help
I have had a FairFX card for a number of years with no problems, but I can't remember the procedure for using it at an ATM. Do you press debit card or credit card, and if you use your British debit card do you press checking account - I just can't remember?
Thank you xx

I've got a Caxton FX, I always forget too. I think it's Credit Card. For a UK Debit Card, I've never been able to get one to work, my Bank always ends up applying a fraud marker even though I tell them I am going!

Its annoying when they do that.

Natwest used to be really bad for this. About 3 years ago I went into a branch and told them that I was going to America and could they put a marker on my account so my card isn't blocked.

Their response was, we can't do that. you'll have to use your card and if it gets blocked then ring us - from America. What the heck!

Fortunately I think they've changed their process now. But remembering this makes me lol.

I can never remember which to choose. I think i usually guess and see if it works. Lol.

I used a debit card years ago in an emergency to take out $300 - I'm cery glad they didn't block my card then!!

In have phoned my bank and told them I am going to be in Florida and they have made a note, so we will see!!!
Am hoping I won't need to use my English debit card over there, but you never know.
I think it may well be the credit card button you press for withdrawing on your FairFX too, so will just have to 'suck it and see'.
Thank you xx

I have never had any problems with credit or debit cards in the US - most banks also now ask you put in your travel dates via online banking.
Everywhere takes card payments in the US so there's not much you will need cash for - and remember ATMs will charge you to withdraw cash.

I used to use the credit card option for fairfx and it was fine. Sometimes it didn't like the chip and I had to reinsert it but it always worked.

The charge for withdrawal is $2 from fairfx plus any ATM charges where applicable so better to make fewer withdrawals and pull more cash with each transaction than multiple smaller ones.

Please note that credit cards are not accepted everywhere in the US. Many smaller eating establishments take cash only, as well as the odd store. You probably won't run into any of these near Disney, but they do exist.
