My family was looking over the excursons lisdted on the DCL site. The Atlantis Submarine Adventure looks pretty cool. But my 10 yo DS said he wasn't sure?? He isn't one for thrill rides or any thing he deems to be to scary. I told him I would ask the experts and see if I could get some more info on it. So, can someone tell me about this? How is the ride in the sub? Do you get closterphobic(sp) in there? Can you feel the pressue when you go down? Is it a rough ride? Can you stand up in the sub? Would you recommend it for a 10 yo? Was it hot inside the sub? Thanks for you info,

I am interested in finding out as well. I just booked this excursion for DS (4) and I on our first cruise, May 15th , while DH takes DD (9) snorkeling. I did a search prior to booking and it sounds like everyone has enjoyed it. I think I read that it is small inside, but comfortable. It sounds like you see a lot of sea life. No one mentioned a rough ride, so I am hoping for the best.

Dh and I did this in St. Thomas. I'm glad we did it once, but I wouldn't do it again. Yes, I did feel a little claustrophobic. It wasn't hot in the sub. The guide was pretty funny. We didn't see anything all that interesting underwater, however. And since colors start to filter out the deeper you go, things mostly look brown. I guess I thought there would be those brilliant blues and greens you see pictures of when people go diving in the Caribbean. We saw a couple small sharks and a manta ray (and of course, lots of fish). I thought the boat ride to and from the sub was the best part. We rode up on the top deck and it was really fun!

Warning for those who are bringing small children: the ladder down into the sub is very steep. Be careful!

my family did this in Grand Cayman. It was wonderful...I believe my son was around six or so when we did this, and he really enjoyed it. You can not feel the pressure, nor it is a rough ride at all. In fact i thought it was pretty amazing that we got as deep as we did, and you really couldn't tell the difference then when the sub was surfaced.
