Atlantis question......

If I were to take a trip by water taxi or regular taxi to Atlantis once we dock, do they drop you off near the front of the hotel?
Where is the closest beach that you can use within walking distance to Atlantis?? I am still unclear exactly what you can do once you go inside the hotel, what can you see? All info is greatly appreciated!
Do you recommend water taxi or car taxi?

A regular taxi will get you to the door of the Atlantis. The water taxi just gets you to one of their docks that is a bit of a walk (uphill a bit too) from the Atlantis.

As for what to do at Atlantis, unless you have booked an excursion or a room at Atlantis or the Comfort Suites across the street, you can shop, gamble and eat inside the hotel. You will not have access to the pool, beach, or aquarium areas. This security has been pretty tight since 9/11. Other than the fact that is a beautiful resort, it is the grounds (water slides, aquariums, beach) that most people head over there for. Last time I read on these posts, there might have been a bracelet that you could purchase to use the pools only but there were conflicting reports about weather this was actually possible.
