I apoligize as I know this has been posted before but we leave in three weeks and are considering doing Atlantis/Paradise Island on our own instead of doing the excursion with DCL. We would really like to just walk around Atlantis, go to the gift shop, see the marina and the beautiful yachts, and then see Paradise Island itself -- shops, etc. I assume I get a water taxi when I get off the boat but my question is -- can we walk around the Atlantis grounds just to see? No swimming or anything -- just looking. If anyone has done this please let me know anything that would be helpful. Thanks

The "dig" ruins and the beach area are off limits to just looking unless you like buy a $25 a person day pass. You can goto the shops, the casino and see part of the aquarium without paying.

We also did Atlantis in our own. We played in the casino, ate lunch there, and explored the hotel. We had limited access outside, but were able to see the pools and beach from a far. In all we spent about 5 hours there and really enjoyed it. I have some pictures of the resort at www.picturetrail.com Where it says view album/members name put Tkuvs2talk.

Thank you for all your help -- just one more question. What does the $25 daily pass cover and if I'm interested, where do I get it?
Thanks again.
