Just booked at the comfort suites so we can use the Atlantis. Now I just need help in how we get there. I know that alot of you have done this before, so can you help in what is the best way to get there.

Hi sbrownell

We booked Comfort Suites so we could use the Atlantis Resort pools during our April cruise. Check in at Comfort was very quick and it was a short walk to enter Atlantis. If you are not using the room at all just tell them and then you won't have to go back to Comfort to check out.

When you leave the ship walk to the beginning of the pier where there are taxis waiting. Expect to pay $4 per person for the ride to Comfort Suites.

How was the walk from the Comfort Suites to the Atlantis. Did you think this was worth the price you paid. We are ending up paying around $200 for a family of four. How did your kids like the pools. Were you able to get to all the slides or is this a huge walking adventure?

Comfort Suites is right across the street from Atlantis - a very short walk.

We all (DH, myself, DD-15 and DS-14) loved the pools and the slides. There are a couple of slides that go right through the shark tank. And the aquariums are very impressive. I believe they are the biggest salt water aquariums there are anywhere.

I still haven't decided if it was worth the price. We paid $179 + taxes for the room. And including the taxi ride both ways the total was about $250.

Atlantis is really incredible and worth seeing. And other than the Blue Lagoon (which we went to on our 2000 cruise) there isn't much in Nassau that we wanted to do.

There is a LOT of walking involved!

Okay,

What did you like better Atlantis or the Blue Lagoon. Would you do one over the other?

My DD8 and I have done the Blue Lagoon, Dolphin Swim and Atlantis, and without pause we'd do Atlantis again in a snap. You're on vacation so $50/person for a full day isn't bad. Take into account that we love swimming and water parks, but we're actually thinking of going to Atlantis and staying there for 3 or 4 days. The walk across the street is short, but walking around the grounds of Atlantis itself can take awhile. Be sure everyone has shoes so you don't burn your feet. And lots of sunscreen! There are pools and grottos everywhere, so be sure and go exploring. You'll keep tripping over more pools or hideaways. Be warned that it's not a full sized waterpark, but more of a mini-park. The biggest cluster of slides and the tube ride through the shark tank are at the pyramid --- just ask anyone how to get to the pyramid. Our favorite slide was across the big bridge on the other side of the park --- pool, slide/drop, pool, slide/drop affair. Also, the Dig, their enormous walkthrough aquarium is a nice diversion that you shouldn't miss. There's a neat stingray pool, for looking, not swimming, fountains galore, an area where they've cut a channel and let the sea come in to make their own little white sand surrounded bay, and there's the real beach too. DD got her hair-braided on their beach - clean, polite, no waiting. We rank this as our best single day cruising ever - even ahead of CC because there's more to do! I recommend getting off the ship as soon as possible and heading out. Enjoy!

It is a really close call for DH and I but we have a very slight preference for the Blue Lagoon because we love to snorkle.

DD and DS preferred Atlantis. They love water parks and spend incredible amounts of time in the water and on the slides.
