Atlantic City, New Jersey-- May 13!! FINAL DETAILS POST 57!

I just heard from Bill K. He will be with his whole family (a total of 5).

Is it May 13 yet? Woohoo!

i wanted to go but we both work weekends-cant get off but i hope you all have a great time

I'm trying to wear DH down to go with me...ha ha.

I know my 5 year old would love going to the Rainforest Cafe.

The only issue with me bringing along the kids is that I can't sneak away to gamble after or before the meet.

When do we need a final head count by?

not sure...Kimwim8 called today and the event lady is out of town for the week, so we will call again next week

Just found out DD is getting confirmed on May 13!! Sorry won't be able to make it...

What a bummer, Bill!!! We'll see you the next time. :)

Since this is quite an informal event...I'm pretty sure you could let us know a day or two before and we could get you a seat! :thumbsup2

When I call, I'm gonna pad the number of people attending, so we should be fine.

The more, the merrier!

Hey all - I have some updates, news, concerns....

OK, where to start?

I called the RFC. We have a few options there:

1. We can sit as a group of 20 (that's the number I gave as an estimate) all together & order off of the menu at 11 or 11:30 on 5/13.

2. We can sit as two groups of 10 any time of the day and order off of the menu, but there are no guarantees that the two tables will be near each other.

3. We can sit as a group of 20 any time of the day, but only with the "banquet menu", which is a set price of $59.99 per person. (I have the sample menu she sent me if anyone wants a copy...PM me). IMHO this isn't a great option. It's very expensive for us to sit in the middle of a restaurant with other people around us to have appetizer, salad, entree and dessert and one beer or wine). To me, not a great deal...

I know this isn't working out like I pictured...but I have another possible option...

I don't know if you all are set on AC...but I live about 10-15 minutes outside of AC in Galloway. There is an AWESOME restaurant in an easy to find location (just off the GS Parkway) called Gourmet Italian Cuisine. They have several side rooms, with one available on the 13th. This room would be completely ours...no outsiders! We would order off of the huge menu. The room is filled with booths, and enough room to seat 28 or so people. So as far as paying for lunch...I think it would make it easier to split up by table, instead of a group of 20 (I know payment wasn't brought up yet, but it was something I was thinking about).

SO.....

Tell me what you all think. I am totally up for more ideas, comments on these ideas, etc. I'd really like to still have a meet - so hopefully it'll still work out. Please please please give us (me & Jen) your feedback!

If you can, please respond ASAP. If we do decide on either of the two places listed here, we need to call them by next week to reserve tables/rooms.

Thanks guys!

I can't believe they will only let us order off the banquest menu...don't they do parties??? Oh well, that stinks...I am up to any other place just thought since we are the Diser's and RFC is in disney it would give us the Disney feel...but like I said it really doesn't matter to me where we go as long as we go!! :thumbsup2

Just bumping this up...i sent PMs to everyone so thanks for coming to check this out...

Let Kim and I know if you have any other ideas (as she said!)
I know this gourmet italian cuisine is very yummy (ate their once and had takeout once).

Hi,

The menu for Gourmet Italian Cuisine is posted at:

http://www.gourmetitaliancuisine.com

Hope this helps for everyone when voting!

Jason

Thanks Jason! I didn't even know that site existed...and I live VERY close to it! Have you been there?

dis sjw - I can call Carmines & see how they would handle a group. Thanks for the suggestion!

Gourmet Italian Cuisine looks good!!! I have never been to Carmine's, but I was looking over the menu and it is $12.00 for a side of just broccoli :scared1: !!!!!!

That's too bad about the RFC - I agree that the RFC would have been the closest to the "Disney" feel for our Meet.

In that case, I second the vote for Carmines.....Their entrees are meant to be shared by 2-3 people so the prices may seem higher, but when it's broken out between everyone it's not too bad of a price.

Personally, i'd like to stay around the AC Boardwalk area, but that's just my preference, not trying to be difficult. I'll go along with the majority.

Thanks!

I vote for Carmines as well. Very yummy when I was there last fall and the service was excellent. The prices are a little high but the plates of food are HUGE. There were five of us and we ordered one appetizer, two entrees and one desert and we had a ton of leftovers. For example we ordered tiramisu and it was a whole pie dish sized tiramisu! The only problem would be splitting the bill.

I have a call in to Carmine's. There are special menus for groups (if you go to private events). I'm just waiting for them to call me back with some prices...and to see if they have room for us on our date. Then I'll post back & let you all know - and I guess we'll take another vote.

My partner in crime, Jen, is leaving tomorrow for a week long Florida trip - so...it may be up to us guys!

I'll be back soon with an update.

I love Carmine's Tiramisu - it's delicious.

Did you see the "Titanic" dessert? It's about a foot long strawberry shortcake with frosting and it's in the shape of the Titanic.
