We will be flying out of the Atlantic City Airport for the first time in 11 days and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is like. Where do u park? Is their food or small resteraunts in the airports? Do you get right onto the plane like walk up stairs or is their terminals like newark? If anyone could give me the lowdown that would be greatly appreiciated!!!!! :flower:

ACY is a very "Easy In, Easy Out" airport. You park right infront of the terminal. The airport contains 8 gates, 6 being Spirit, 1 Being Delta Connection (Comair-ASA) and 1 Being GAT (General Aviation Traffic-Charters, etc.). The resturant is pretty small, but has some pretty good food. TSA WILL tear you apart at ACY. 2 people got patted down in our party, and numerious others were "wanded". Also, ACY is home of the NJ Air National Gard, so you will see military planes everywhere!! Have a good flight! :earboy2:

Thanks so much for the info. and the heads up about TSA!!!!! I guess i'll feel safe!!!

Previous poster was correct, you park right in front of the terminal. There are only like 6 gates so it's quite easy finding your flight! For me, it's a very stress-free airport, however, they do have a lot of security and you get checked just like you would at PHL or EWR. We love flying out of ACY, but Spirit's prices lately are no competition with Southwest so we're flying out of PHL in 3 weeks.

There is also a counter service food place that was not too bad.

I'm sure you'll have no problems - enjoy your trip!

ACY is very very small but modern. You get on airplanes through a jetway just like at big airports.

Parking, as someone else said, is very close to the terminal, and costs $4.25 per day. And by the way, it's about 13 miles from Atlantic City itself, so don't expect to see casinos and stuff when you're there.

One more thing, if you're interested, there is a Wawa's just before you get to the airport. You have to go right past it. We usually stop in there and get some Wawa coffee and breakfast sandwiches as well as gum for the plane.

We also love AC but Spirit's prices aren't so low anymore. We used to go over and stay at my mom's house, who is about 30 mins. away from the A.C. airport. But w/ SW's prices being so reasonable, it's better to leave right from our house and drive the 45 mins. to Philly.

Thanks for all the info, that wawa stop is a good idea!! Does everyone still recomend showing up 2 hours before flight time or do u think less time is needed?

I don't think you need to be there two hours early, especially if you check in and print out your boarding passes on-line. An hour should be fine.

We love flying out of AC. It's a little farther than Philly, for us, but we would rather drive the extra twenty minutes or so to fly out of AC.

If you can, have someone drop you off, with your luggage, at the curb, then park the car. If the parking lot is crowded, you can have quite a walk to the terminal.

I agree with the WaWa stop. The food options, at the airport, aren't that great.

Don't forget to take your parking ticket with you, as you need to pay for parking at the terminal, not in the parking lot. I didn't realize that until after we walked through the parking lot and we were almost to the terminal before I saw the sign.

Good luck and have a great trip! :)

Thanks for the parking ticket tip, that will be a great help to know we have to take it in with us since we have never had to do thaqt before!!!!!!
