My DH is a baseball fanatic and we just started making plans for an impomptu trip for the end of March. He would love to attend a few games. Are there other spring training events besides the actual games? I have read on other MLB teams websites that they open practice(no ticket required) to the public. I have not found anything like that for the Braves, though. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA
Cheryl

I know they use the facilities at the Wide World of Sports. I know that mousesavers just had some info about their training schedule. Here's a link that maybe can help you www.mousesavers.com Have a great trip

We are going late Feb/early March & have already purchased tix to see them play the Dodgers. DS is VERY excited! I haven't read any thing about open practices, but I will send you any info I get between now & then.

I went to Ticketmaster site the first day spring training tickets were available (last week) but not til later in the day...by the time I did, the only tickets available for Braves - Yankees game on 3/27 were lawn tickets! I had no idea the tickets would sell that fast! I know they may open up more tickets later but I went ahead and bought the 4 lawn tickets just to be sure kids and hubby could go. Seems tickets for other games are more available but just a word to the wise about the Yankees and Braves!!!

We haven't been to see the Braves, but we've been to other spring training sites. It's customary to open the gates in the morning so you can watch the players practice. Spring training used to be very informal and you could easily talk to the players and get autographs. It's more big business these days and alot of that informality is gone. Too bad. We still enjoy going, though. We're going to our first Braves games when we go in March.

My mom was online the morning the day they went online. We were able to get good seats for the Dodgers game. Almost right away though there were people selling their tix for $85 each!!! We saw some really good pictures from previous years and it still looked the players sign autographs, etc... I hope this is still the case.

Hmmmm....Now I know why dh so readily agreed to a March trip when we've only just returned from WDW.
