Our first DVC purchase was 1999 at BW for 210 points. Then we added on another 210. Our second contract was BC and then our last was BLT.

Bought in 2002 at BCV and then added on in 2003 at BWV.

Sold those during divorce in 2004 :sad1: sad about selling DVC...not the divorce:rotfl:

2008--bought at AKL
2010--hoping to add on at VGC

BWV and we still love it because we spend most of our time at DHS and Epcot. You can't beat the convenience of walking to and from each park. I have to say I also love being able to walk to MK, but we only spend a day or two there max on any trip so our 102 points there are plenty.

First resort was through resale - two contracts at SSR (120pt and 270pt). We paid $84 a point at the time (back in early 2007). This was during the friend and family promo, and Dis was offering SSR at $85 per point. They were buying back anything below $82 per point.

I remember staying at OKW and driving by SSR thinking, "Wow. If I could ever afford to buy, I want to own there!" We were so excited when we eventually purchased. Now, I'd buy at every resort if I could. I haven't found a property that I haven't liked! :cloud9:

Around 2003-2004 we took a fast look at SSR models before catching a plane home.
We looked at the paperwork at home and called the guide back 3 or 4 times to go ahead
with the purchase. We received no response and forgot about it until early 2005 when we heard about the Timeshare store. We purchased OKW at that time. We then added BWV before the end of 2005.

First was BCV 210 points, next two add-ons were also BCV. Have stayed at SSR and BWV and may consider adding on at BWV.

We have friends that bought at BWV and then backed out cause the wife prefers yacht club and the free food and wine at the concierage level.

Enjoying reading all the DVC posts (I'm a newbie) and a DVC member for 16+ years. Can I ask why some forum people recommend buying small contracts rather than a single larger sized one? It can't make any difference to us now, we have three contracts and am not planning any further purchases, I am just interested! Many thanks.

Linney94: to answer your question, smaller contracts are easier to sell down the road should you ever decide you want to sell your DVC:scared1:

First (but hopefully not the last) and only is BLT 200 pts. Just doesn't seem to go very far there! Love that place though so trying out a few others before i start hitting up the DH about an add-on somewhere TBD. If my kids had their way, we would own at AKV and BCV. I think that my DH is really gonna like VWL also. So we shall see.;)

Mine became home resorts in this order:
BWV
VWL
VB
BCV
AKV
SSR

We initially bought into Vero...not necessarily by choice, but it was the resort du jour when we stopped in to investigate. Had no clue (and was NOT told) about the 7 vs. 11 month window which to this day aggravates me for not researching a bit more (oh and most expensive dues!!) That being said...we have 300 points and never had a problem reserving what we wanted even at 7 months. We did not visit Vero until 10 years after our purchase and we love it. So all is well that ends well. Afterwards, we did invest in our favorite resort, BWV. :)

AKV...who knows what will be next but I sure know I need 40 additional points

BWV is my first love. I added on at BLT for the proximity to MK. I'm trying to resist the temptation to add on at BLT. 100 points doesn't go very far.

WL resale, immediate addon @ BW

we followed hints posted here re mulitple resort ownership for 11 month window availability & buying where we wanted to stay...

worked out that we've tried all the other DVC resorts we've wanted to visit, only staying @ home resorts approx 1/3 of the time:laughing:. Still, it's nice to know if the 7 month doesn't work out we still have a room @ the inn:thumbsup2

OKW resale followed by an add on at AKV 3 months later followed by another AKV add on 4 months after that. Want to add on at BLT, but it has to wait
