Riviera One Bedroom or Saratoga Two Bedroom?

Traveling to Disney for 5 nights in March for spring break with our 17 yr old daughter and 20 yr old son. Currently we have a 1 bedroom at Riviera booked but can switch to a 2 bedroom at Saratoga (or OKW). Our kids have been fortunate to go to Disney many times and have stayed in a variety of rooms/resorts but we’ve never stayed at either Riviera or Saratoga nor have we experienced the Spring Break crowds. Would love your thoughts on keeping the one bedroom at Riviera or a two bedroom at Saratoga. Space is important but we also enjoy nicer amenities.
My 17 and 20yo love RIV. I don't think you can go wrong with either though because walking to Disney Springs from SSR is usually fun for the older kids. If you can only stay in a 2BR if you switch to SSR, I vote switching to SSR because 2BR with those ages is great, plus walking to Disney Springs. I am not a big fan of OKW so I'm a little biased lol

I've done both resorts, we own at SSR but really only have stayed there when we have a car and can't find something else. Our Contract is 100% for SAP.

However, SSR has very nice rooms and I find it extremely peaceful. If you have a car it's great as you can park right by your room.

The reason my wife doesn't like to stay there is she likes to have a Lobby very close and SSR is big and even in the Preferred locations a Lobby isn't essentially downstairs.

Riviera is nice, I actually find a few resorts very similar in decoration and those are Riviera, BWV and VGF. Meaning the color palate etc.

Riviera is on the Skyliner and it's handy but I have found Riviera (prior to us buying a resale contract as I can't use our points for Riviera) when we stayed there a bit isolated and I just feel it's very bland/generic.

the 2 BR at SSR will be large and much quieter, you'll obviously have much more space. Again, I find the decor similar IMO. But with Riviera you do have quicker restaurant options with Topolino's and the cafe and lounge. Easy hop to Caribbean for Sebastian's which we like and is one of those hidden gems imo. But again, it all depends on what is more important to you.

also, are you planning on making the 17 year old sleep on the tv pull down? I’m sure your kids don’t want to share the queen murphy bed.

I’d definitely recommend 2 studios at RIV if that’s the resort you want to be at. Not only do you get 2 true bathrooms but you’d also get 2 queen beds for your kids, so they don’t have to share.

They are all nice.
Exactly! Something people forget as they obsess about “which one is the best”

While people are quick to point out that Disney operates no hotel at the level of the Four Seasons, they do offer many great hotels.

Personally, I think a boutique luxury hotel operated by Disney between VGF and the MK entrance is inevitable… Look at those Golden Oak residences…. Could even be a DVC that uses a different model like some of the Aspen timeshares that require a larger fractional ownership.

Some of the things people say about them are so ridiculous 🤣🤣 Myself included 🤣🤣 We are fortunate to be able to stay in these resorts, many others would love just one stay in a studio. DVC is the only season I get 🤣🤣

I LOVE Riviera, but bathroom situation will be much better in Saratoga 2-bed vs Riviera 1-bed.

I'll be the lone supporter of the RIV 1BR for location and skyliner although I'm biased. 1 kid can be on the murphy and 1 on the bed under the TV. My SIL who is in her early 20s LOVES sleeping on the smaller bed under the TV lol. I guess it depends on how big your family are but if they're on the shorter/smaller side a 1BR could work out very well. On the other hand if you care more about space and the extra bathroom then it's obviously SSR but I'd refuse to stay at SSR unless it's in Congress Park but I'm snobby :P.
