At what point do I give up on waitlist

I am trying to move from OKW studio to BCV studio for a stay in about 2 weeks. At what point should I resign myself to not getting the waitlist?

On one trip I did go directly to BWV check-in and my stay was changed on the spot, but for some reason I am not feeling very good about this one. Maybe it is because I want this to happen so badly.

I just called yesterday and reloaded the waitlist at 31 days for our trip 10/31 - 11/7; we are confirmed for BWV preferred studio but trying for a BWV view.

The last I heard was that the DVC resorts are pretty much packed from now until mid-November.

Then again.......hang in there

I don't know how good your chances are at this point. I cancelled our reservation last week or so at GF and a couple of hours later, I called back and the room was gone. Since then, I called sporadically to see if there is any room at ANY deluxe resorts for our stay checking in on 10/17 and cannot find ANY room, especially under AP rate.

I have also been on a waitlist for another DVC member for 10/12 since June and nothing is happening.

We are now staying at OKW, I originally thought about renting out my OKW reservation and use the $ to subsidize a deluxe concierge room. But after talking to CRO and DVC MS, I quickly cancelled the rental post fearing we will end up with no room at all.

On top of all this, I called this morning to see if I can get a PS dinner for Chef Mickey between 10/17 and 10/20, the only one they can find is on 10/20 at 9pm!!!

I think both the resorts and restuarants may be very crowded.

Good luck and I hope something happens that you can get BCV. Is your son still working there?

Yes he is, and we are going for his 21st birthday. Was hoping to be close to his work location as it will make it easier and save some time for us to meet up when he gets off work each day.

I will be very happy at OKW, but things will just be easier at BCV for us. Either way will be fine, but it is nerve racking when you are waiting on something like this.

I sincerely hope something will come your way. You know, within 7 days prior to arrival, there is no waitlist and it is first come first serve. That maybe your chance of getting it. Good luck!!!

Did you waitlist day by day, or for the entire time? Did you call MS and see if any of the days were open? Would you be willing to split your stay if some were available? I'd keep calling MS and checking, sometimes things turn up. I have to agree with the above post. I think Disney is really going to be busy this fall, it seems that alot of people are having a hard time getting accomodations. I tried to get a PS at Chef Mickey's also for 11/30 and the only thing left was a 9:15p.m. I said no thanks, the kids would never wait that long. I'm hoping that the crowds subside after thanksgiving or else I'm going to look like an idiot to my family. I've just gone on and on about how great the crowds are this time of year!Short lines, ect.!!!

Hey there beatty, yes I remember. Another waitlist did come thru for us, one I didn't expect, but I am still waiting for this one. thanks for the Pixie Dust. I can use all you can spare.

Erin, yes I am waitlisted day by day and would split trip up if I needed to. I have been calling, not every day, but often enough to be a pain, I am sure. The reason I keep calling, is I had provided a daytime office number for them for another waitlist and they took the number down wrong and called at home. We were out for the evening the day the message was left, and I got the message the next day with 5 minutes to spare in order to accept the waitlist. So, I am not taking any chances any more.

To be honest with you, I think you better get that t-shirt with the big "I" on it. I can tell you from personal experience that the days immediately before Thanksgiving are slow and from Thanksgiving Day and after it is a zoo. Don't let it spoil your trip. Have a wonderful time in spite of crowds.

Yeah, but when did you try for Chef Mickeys? I had my pick when I booked for Nov 30 at 90 days out. That is the first MVMCP night so a lot of people eat at Chef Mickey's and then head to the party after so that could explain why Chef Mickey's is so bad that night.

I've gone the first week of December twice now and again this year (Nov 30 through Dec 7) and it's always been nice crowd-wise. I think it will be busy Thanksgiving weekend and then die down.

I feel your pain/worry rweTHEREyet. We are waitlisted for Sunday Oct 19 at BWV. There isn't anything available for cash or points. There is a concierge room at Yacht Club that was available last night and a cabin at Ft Wilderness. Otherwise it is looking like we either camp out in the BWV lobby for the night or move over to Cornado Springs.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!!! I just want it to be a very special trip for my folks. They haven't been to Disney since '89. To quote my oldest DD(7) "Grandma doesn't even know what fastpass is!" I just want this to be a really special trip for them. They are going with us to help with the kids, so it's not like we'll be going in commando mode with 3 little ones in tow. Plus, my Dad just had quintuple bypass in May, we are just lucky to even have him with us.

Beattyfamily, I think you replied to my post on the restaurant board too, thanks, I missed the 90 day mark for Chef Mickey's so it's kind of my own fault, I guess I just wasn't thinking that the hotel restaurants would fill up so quickly( I guess I really do need that big "I" t-shirt don't I?). If you decide not to use your ressies, I'll be glad to take them off your hands!

Yes, monorail resort restaurants fill up on party nights as they are very convenient to MK those nights.

Well, I too am waiting for either BWV or BCV for 11/7-11/15. Alreafy have a spot at OKW, which is not the worst place in the wrold to be either!!! We were jsut thinking that with the Epcot F&W Fest, it would be nice to be at a BW area resort, to be within walking distance.

I actually called MS yesterday and talked to a lovely man named Frank who told me that unfortunately there was nothing available that matched my waitlist request. He also told me that they go to the waitlist first when they get a cancellation, and if anyone's waitlist matches, then they call them.

I do like to call eveyr once in a while(not daily, but every 2 or 3 weeks) just to "remind" them about me. I figure if maybe I am talking to them, somehting might pop up!!!!Hey, you never know!!!!

We were successful On A waitlist last May, And recieved the call exactly 7 days out. So there could still be a chance!
