I'm shocked at my $180 bill for AT & T U-verse this month. I guess the promotional rate we had ended. This is for cable, internet, and phone.

How much do you pay?

We do not even have any movie channels.

That is what we pay as well. :sad2: I'd love to switch to a lower plan (with less channels) but my dh refuses to give up some of the channels that would eliminate. Honestly as much as I love U-verse, I still think it is ridiculous.

They just had a price increase which doesnt help. $5 on the tv and $5 on the internet. Not sure about phone as we dont have it through them. Kinda makes the $10 credit I have been getting since I called about 5mos. ago moot. Not sure what we are going to do as my husband doesnt want a dish on the roof so that eliminates Dish and Direct Tv.

Our bill we just recieved was $82.24... this is for the U-200 TV and Internet Express. Our phone is also AT&T but we have it kept separate ($21/mo.).

That's with a $10 credit they've given us when we called a few months ago to cancel.

But thinking once the warm weather hits (in next 2 months or so), we're gonna cancel because we got Netflix few months ago, and ever since then, really haven't watched much U-Verse.

Will save us around $60/month (would keep internet) and I can think of much better things to do with $60 than spend it on what little TV we do watch, lol.

Advice: Call and speak with someone. They don't want to lose their business, maybe there's a way to lower your bill. We have U-200, Internet, and both of our Cell Phones on one plan and I couldn't tell you what our total is, somewhere around $180. (We just canceled our home phone that's why I couldn't tell you the exact new total.)

$200, but my company reimburses me $45 for the internet portion since I work from home full time. We have some movie channels though, so we could get that down some if we wanted to. I think once this season of "Sparticus" is over (DH is fan) I'll go ahead and downgrade. We have Netflix so we dont' watch the movie channels much anymore.

Thanks for the replies......

I think I am going to call and see if I could get my bill lowered. Doesn't hurt to try.........

That is a lot.

We have a cable modem internet (Time Warner) for $39/mo. and we have Directv for $75/mo. For phone service we have Ooma which is $0/month

So, we pay $114 for everything.

225.00
For Phone, MAX PLUS Internet (have to have this with 5 game systems going online, 3 computers, Ipods.....
Tv U300 +Starz,Showtime,TMC...
and 7 Receivers. They charge us a 7.00 fee for each of these!

158 a month. We have the U200, BUT we have HBO right now for 3 months free and the Movie package with showtime and all the others free for 6 months. The 6 months one also gave us 20 off our bill. Remember when they had the food network and HTV fight and it was out for a few days? They gave us the amount off for that reason. Very nice of them. I had just called to say that I would be switching at end of that month if it wasn't resolved. Then, the 3 months HBO was a Valentines offer they sent yesterday since I had dropped from the U450 like 2 months ago. We have internet at the 3rd level not sure which one. Phone and HD and sports tier upgrade.

We pay around $145 for home phone, U200 package and the super high speed internet (it's the middle internet package I think). That doesn't include the cell phones. We have 4 TVs all hooked up to the main DVR and one TV has HD. My bill went up earlier this year, I called them and they lowered it $20/month for 6 months - just like that! I've done that before and gotten it lowered too.

Like others said, just call them and say "I want my bill lowered" :)

My bill just went up to 180.00 so i guess i too will be one the phone begging for them to lower my bill. Anyone have any tips or suggestions?? Im not paying this crazy amiun t but dont feel like going through the whole installation hasssle with a new company either :(

I pay about $180 for U-300, home phone and good internet. It was either them or local cable....that's all I can get in my area. Used to have DirectTV and actually prefer it, but without the bundling, the internet and phone were ridiculous and the DirecTV was up to about $80 a month too.

I feel robbed, most of the time. Just taken to the cleaners. But on the other hand, I do like my TV, and my internet and my phone. So I just roll my eyes and press on. If I'm not going to give it up, I can't really complain about it, because obviously I'm willing to pay.

But I will totally be calling when my bill goes up, and trying to get them to lower it!

We paid about $180, but we had the premium package. But, a couple months ago, we decided to cancel for awhile and see how it went. We got rid of TV & phone and kept internet for $40. We ended up switching internet a month ago because it wasn't that good with U-verse. Anyway, we really don't miss tv much at all. I watch a couple things online on CBS and we watch Netflix or Amazon Prime the rest of the time. We planned to just give it 6 months, but no one in our family misses it, so we're probably done with u-verse/cable. $140 a month back in my pocket.

Mine is in the $170's for the following services:

  • U200 TV (with HD, which is $10 extra)
  • Basic Internet
  • Unlimted Home Phone
All that, plus certain taxes/fees and a second receiver -- but I am OK with the pricing, since we make heavy usage of most of the services (I have debated downgrading the home phone).

FWIW, U-verse offers me a way better experience than the local incumbant CATV Company (Charter) ever did -- add to that the 2 satellite services can be something of a crapshoot during inclement weather, and U-verse is the best option, out there...
