At MK today! FP+ lines backing up like crazy

Booooo

Lol, nothing really to say. Hopefully like some think this is them testing the limits of FP+ for rides.

After all they do even say test on the commercial?

Yes! I asked my DH when we got here @ park opening, did we fall into a deep sleep last night and wake up to the week between Xmas and new years?! Lines are all crazy long. Has been since 9 am. Really, its a small world was 30 min @ 10 am!

Why are FP+ lines backing up?

POTC moves a lot of people really quickly. And it is one of my fav's

They took away half the POTC line for FP so it has no place to go anymore and backs out into the main walkway.

The OP said the FP line is long, not the standby. Why are they distributing so many FP+ that the line backs up that far? POTC never seemed to have a long line before. Maybe it broke down.

Ugh. Crowds are supposed to be a a level 4 today and we're headed over tonight to watch the fireworks. Maybe everyone will clear out after that!

The missing variable is: "what does the line look like once you get past the first Mickey?" When we were there on a "9" day, the FP+ return lines were crazy stupid long outside of the attractions, but once you got past the first Mickey, you sailed to the boarding area. Still, it would take 15+ minutes to get past the first Mickey. But it wasn't as if the line was bumper to bumper all the way from outside the building to the boarding area. The lines back up outside the attraction because everyone has to "tap" the first Mickey which takes far longer than waving a paper FP in front of the not-too-careful watch of a CM. So in sum, they may not be distributing so many FP+s as to make the line back up outside the building, but they may have a very modest line, all of which is outside the building. Until we hear if the lines are solid all the way through or only backed up outside, we won't know the full story. Inasmuch as we were there on a "9" day and did not have solid FP+ lines (only backups outside the attraction), I doubt that it is worse on 2/28. Still not a good thing, as those lines outside the attractions are ugly and disruptive to traffic flow.

Yep, this. And some attractions, like POTC, were not built with FP+ in mind, so those lines get particularly clumsy. This is not a big deal, but it needs to be fixed/revised at some point.

Nothing to see here.

These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along. Move along.

:rolleyes2

Yes they did....I apparently can't read today LOL

Was the fp+ line outside the first scan. But still took us 15 min after entering to board. So in all probably 25 min total. Def not complaining because standby was 60 min. Just wanted to let everyone know. It is really busy today, everyone is commenting. We are taking a break and going back for 8pm ressies at BOG. Hope it's better then!

They are building FP+ lines outside the buildings so you can wait in line to get in line. They have built one at Safaris and are building one at Evetest.

Problem is (at least for our family), 25 min is more like a stand-by time line. We usually go during the last 2 weeks in August. I wonder if when we go, it's just typically less crowded and that is why this seems too long for fast pass?

We were at rope drop today, 3 rides on Big Thunder Mountain Rrailroad before 10am. Had fastpass for 2 pm. The line was over the bridge into Frontierland. The line was not moving. Standby was 60 min.
Cast members were questioning those in line if they had a fastpass, all nodded their heads yes. We were tired and just left. Wish I had asked CM what the problem was. Then thought we'd get a Dole whip, both lines even longer.

I like the Dole Whip idea-YUM!

Yeah, that's a low crowd period (we love the last week of August)

we were there today, and even though the fastpass lines looked long, they were short. it never took us more than 7-8 minutes to get through the fastpass lines to the ride. this was early afternoon, space mountain, BTMRR, and Jungle Cruise. Waits were all over 60 minutes standby. Problem was people were just extremely slow scanning their magic bands or passes.

People keep commenting on how crowded it was today in the MK, but I truly think it was a weather issue, more than a 3 days weekend. wednesday and thursday were horrible weather wise, 50 and downpouring rain. we ended up going to see movies on wednesday and were at the parks thursday, and nobody was in the parks. completely deserted. every single thing was a walk on, so everyone came out today because it was beautiful. probably the nicest day you could possibly get.
