I am here and checking in, if I don't get to reply...it's because I'm doing laundry & packing!
Maybe we'll run into each other at the parks...although from your schedule it doesn't look like we have the same parks planned for the same days.
With the little one, we'll be hitting the parks early & then coming back for afternoon naps, probably hanging at the Poly for the evenings and maybe back to the MK for a parade or two.

We're on the fence and I was wondering if your reviews either way would help me make up my mind. If its not planned, well its not too late. We know how you love to make changes! Well guys, we made it....but it was super stressful as the nut cases were out in full force making driving horrible. We made it to DTD around 7pm (yes this means Todd actually got out on time, Miracles Do Happen!)

DTD was insane. There was no parking at all, I mean anywhere. We drove around for 32 minutes (I timed it) and could not get a spot. We were getting really cranky as we were both tired and hungry. Finally we found a spot all the way down by Cirque de Soleil and when I told Todd that WPE was at the complete other side of DTD he said

DH: If you think I am walking all the way down there you are out of your mind

ME: So what are we gonna do?

DH: (pulling a Soprano-like voice) Dont worry about it

Now when we left the house it was 80 and gorgeous...I set foot ouf of the car and it was freezing! I popped the trunk and got the jogging suit out and changed right there in the car. We walked into DTD and guest relations was right there so we picked up our AP's, TIW and Dis Visa rewards card (which they gave us an extra $50 for being good customers..can you say Pixie Dust?

DTD is beyond packed, there are people all over the place. The first restaurant we get to is WPCafe, with a line out the door. We walk in and Todd said look over here, 2 seats at the sushi bar. A passing waiter heard him and said we could sit there now, no ressie needed. Let the games begin, he has already scored us a very unexpected TS!!! To I kiss him or kick him?

The place is packed....crazy with people. The sushi bar was gorgeous and was cranking out platters (HUGE platters) of sushi creations. I go to get the camera out to take a picture and the worst thing happened...I FORGOT THE CAMERA IN THE CAR

How did this atrocity happen you ask? Why did I allow this to happen? Well I will tell you. I was running all over the place today and my messenger bag was too heavy so I took out the camera and put it in the cup holder of my car....where it stayed while we had dinner.

ME: OMG I forgot the camera

DH: So sad for you

ME: Please go get it?

DH: You have a better shot of me eating sushi tonight than you do me hiking across this huge parking lot in the cold

ME: FINE, whatever...I will sic Kathy on you

So there you have it, a first for me (I think), a dining review without pictures! But I do promise you this..it will be the only one of this trip!

The service in the sushi/bar area is very spotty but that was ok, we were not bothered by it. Our server, John, was a nice guy and brought us an ice tea (mango) and a Coke.

We shared an appie of calamari and it was awesome. Tons of it, we couldnt finish it, and it was lightly coated and very tender and had a kick to it.

I was too tired to eat and a bit disappointed for lack of picture so I just had a baby lettuce salad with balsamic dressing and a toast crisp lathered in goat cheese and bruschetta tomatoes. This was an amazing salad and huge too. I loved the toast crisp but Todd hates goat cheese so he left it to me, thank goodness!

Todd ordered the macadamia nut and panko crusted chicken breast with mashed potatoes and papaya preserves. This was a huge serving and I had a few bites. There were 2 chicken breasts, lightly coated and so tender you could cut it with a fork, the mashed potatoes and preserves were the perfect sides for this dish. He cleaned the entire plate so I know he loved it.

We skipped dessert because the menu is pretty lame, just cheesecake, lava cake (do they serve this everywhere??) and key lime pie. I have ready pretty bad reviews of this place, mostly because of the service, the food is very good and we both agreed that we would have no problem eating here again.

We drove over to the CBR and the front dest said they were 99% full this weekend because of F&W (last weekend) and the Festival of the Masters but later in the week, M-T, they will be 40% full. We received our request of a king bed preferred 2nd floor room and we drove over to our bldg. The parking lot is completely empty, the bus stop is directly in front and the quiet pool to the left of us and the food court to the right....PERFECT!

We opened the door to a super clean room and this amazing gift from our very good friends Karin & Tom (Dizneeat). Thank you both for your friendship and thoughtfulness..we love you guys! I am trying to talk the hubby into a long weekend in Feb so we can share a meal and cocktails with you!

I unpacked and guess who is already snoring??? Tomorrow I will allow my beloved to sleep in, unless I am up at 5 am again! We may just grab something easy at the food court and head to Epcot right away for F&W time!

I think you've broken the first food porn commandment. Tsk tsk. I suppose I can forgive you if you take LOTS of pictures at the rest of the meals! Or we could just blame Todd since he wouldn't go grab the camera like a good DH. Yeah, I like that option. Bad Todd!

Since you have AP's again, how bout you talk the DH in to a long weekend in January too? My Gram and I rescheduled for Mon Jan 24 - Friday Jan 28. Save for 2 meals, we're got the same ADR's as we were supposed to be enjoying right now. I wish we could have some margaritas at La Cava then too! Something to think about.....

I just love Karin and Tom! The weather was cold last night and it is 58 and pure sunshine today, going up to 77 so that is perfect F&W weather...the crowds might be another story

I promise to take tons of pictures from now on and I like the blame Todd thing too

January is a great time to go, I will work my magic on him and see what we can do!

Happy to hear you made it - despite the stress of the traffic and no camera at dinner! Sounds like a glorious day - hope they continue for you and for the week after your trip too. We arrive on 11/30 and were last there in February when it was absolutely freezing. Us Northeasterners come to Florida for warmth and I don't think we could handle another cold trip. Enjoy your day.
