At Least We Are All Tall Enough For Barnstormer! A June 2017 PTR...updated 6/1

I liked the midnight FP time because it was 9PM here! Using the dummy room trick, was WAY better than making FP at 4AM!

Hopefully they work great! I just need to go buy two more!

Mine were delivered today, on a Sunday. I'm going to try to use my rechargeable batteries, so those are charging right now.

I can understand that. Glad you got the 25% off. The one I ordered was $65 plus shipping. But I had actually seen similar ones (though quilted) from a different seller and she sells hers for around $200. I just can't justify $200 so that is when I asked the other lady, whom I know from a Mom's group I was in. Score! $65 is a great price compared to $200.

I couldn't pay $200 either. Good for you.

Thanks! We're all real pumped now.

then Disney Springs - and I have a whole list I want to get to there. Hoping to head there around 6, back to WL by 10.

We're going to hit Disney Springs on our arrival day. I also have a list of stores we want to see. It's going to be so different from 2 years ago.

And already DH is complaining. He doesn't want to swim then have to get ready to go to Disney Springs. Well, then don't swim. Just sit and watch the kids! I may not swim, either. I'll probably be ready for a beverage at this point! Who am I kidding...not probably...definitely. Anyway, I love how he chimes in about plans now...after they are all done and stuff.

This made me laugh. I feel the same way about my DH, but I'm learning how to turn him around to my plans. It's not always easy or works.

Sunday is still at MK.

We're dong MK on our Sunday too.

Epcot/DHS is the next day.

DHS is our Monday too.

So, I'm shooting for 9 for BTMRR.

Love the night time BTMRR. I have our booked at night too.

I'm going to shoot for getting there and through the gates around 8:45, but we will see how that works out.

No rope drop?

Via Napoli at 6:20,

Can't wait to finally try this!

Then Chad can let him play in the little Splash play area while AJ and I take our turn.

The playgrounds are life savers. I remember when Danielle played her her first trip.

I want to do this first thing before it get sweltering and has a chance to rain,

Good thinking. Avoid what happened last time.

So it was nice to clear my head of it.

::yes::

I ordered 2 more! I figured I better or they might sell out. But then afterward I found I could've ordered a two pack for cheaper than 2 singles. Oh well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

It's funny how when I want his input, he just says you know what I like, just do it. And then when I mention the plans he wants to chime in. Dude, I gave you a chance...now, your chance is gone...lol.

No rope drop?
I don't think I can get them up too early every day. I'm going to have to give them somewhat of a break. We will be staying out late so I have the midday breaks but I don't know if that enough to get them up before the sun comes up...lol.

I saw the 2 pack too, but I wanted a different color for everyone. I showed them to Danielle and she said she wasn't wearing that thing around her neck. I told her just wait, you'll be begging for it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

DTD (Disney Springs) is our arrival day/night tradition. Can't break DH of it.

Typical. :rolleyes2

It's a good thing you have breaks built in. I keep telling DH the heat is going to zap us and we're going to need to take breaks.

First is my knee brace.
I'm glad I saw this. We're still tentatively thinking of an Aug. trip and if we do, Ricky should really bring his brace. He has to wear it when basketball until Sept. anyway and since it still bothers him when he's real active, and that will be the most walking he'll do since the injury, I think it'll be a good idea. But knowing me I wouldn't have thought of it if I didn't see it in your update!

Here's the March Magic shirt I picked up for DH. He loves Figment and 83 is on the back...the year Epcot opened and the last time my DH visited Disney!
Very nice and I love that '83 was the last time Chad was there, too!

I can't remember if I mentioned that I bought two more skorts from Academy.
I don't think I mentioned that I bought a Columbia brand skort from Academy and then the same one in a different color from Kohl's. I like them, but not as much as our cute eyelet ones. I'll have to send you a picture.

I bought blister bandaids. Hopefully I won't need them! I plan to get moleskin too.

I bought those last year and we never used them! So I'll have them for this year.
I cannot push the importance of band-aids enough lol! Even though on some trips we don't use them, there are so many trips when we do - and not just the kids. In fact last Nov. on arrival day, we went to the room and my youngest asked me to pull down the Murphy bed so he could see it. I did, and my finger got stuck somehow. When I pulled it out it was dripping blood :crazy2: Of course all our band-aids were on our packed luggage which hadn't been delivered yet so we ran down to the Marketplace to buy some more, but my finger bled on and off for 2.5 days. Unexpected band-aid issues arise all the time!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to do Once Upon a Time on the same night because it is a lot of waiting around for the boys, but since I took away one MK night, I don't want to have to wait for a show on our only other MK night. So if we watch it, it will be this night...but that's a big if. I'm just not bowled over by what I have seen and if the boys are over it, I'm not going to pitch a fit to stay.
We haven't seen OUAT yet and I'm not sure we'll see it next month. I wasn't a big fan of CtM either so this doesn't excite me. Last month after Wishes we didn't feel like staying so I'll see how we feel after Happily Ever After.

When that sweat is pouring down, you know she will!!

It is good to have traditions, I think. We don't really have any because we haven't gone often enough lately and every time we have gone lately, someone new has gone (AJ in 2012, Will in 2016, DH in 2017), so we just haven't had the opportunity yet. I'm looking forward to making traditions this trip. Though we do almost always do Crystal Palace breakfast...so maybe that's a tradition.

I know, right???

It's a good thing you have breaks built in. I keep telling DH the heat is going to zap us and we're going to need to take breaks.
Yes, I think the breaks are life-savers! My youngest still naps but even if he didn't or even when he doesn't, we will still probably do breaks. Especially since we go in the hot, hot summer months.

I don't think I mentioned that I bought a Columbia brand skort from Academy and then the same one in a different color from Kohl's. I like them, but not as much as our cute eyelet ones. I'll have to send you a picture.
Yes, please do!! The white on I got is more like a traditional golf/tennis skort and doesn't have the eyelet...but it will have to do.

Glad I could be a reminder! :)

Yeh, we are just going to play it by ear. I actually LOVED CtM but from what I have seen OUAT does not hit me the same way. I should keep an open mind though, right?

When that sweat is pouring down, you know she will!!

::yes:: The last summer time we trip we took in 2009 she had a person fan. I guess she thinks she's too cool for that now.

Your family is young, lots of time to make traditions. We started with the DTD tradition in 2002. Sounds like Crystal Palace is your 1st tradition.

I like naps! But I can power nap. When DH tries to nap he's down for the count and I have to wake him up. In 2007 he had to finally admit defeat and take a break. I don't know why he thinks this trip will be different. We even had a few breaks in 2015.

This is us, exactly!

My DH questioned the breaks one day. A woman he works with goes to Disney quite a bit but they don't take breaks. I asked if they go in the summer? He said no. I asked if they get to see the nighttime shows? He said no. There ya go. Now stop questioning my strategy...lol.

Totally agree!

Ok, I very selfishly need one of y'all to stay and watch OUAT! CtM was probably tied with Peoplemover and Splash (...and Philharmagic...and Haunted Mansion) as my favorite thing in MK and I hate that it's gone. I also hate that they have moved the timing of the projection show to 45 minutes after fireworks instead of immediately before. In the past we have always done the Dessert Party and watched CtM from our seats just before Wishes. I'm not feeling this whole waiting after the fireworks thing, but I would have done so for CtM. I need to know if this show is worth it without actually expending any energy myself. :P

I loooooove that Figment shirt! I would have gotten that for myself if I wore t-shirts.

I got excited just reading about your arrival day, so the rest of the outline was gravy. It looks like you have planned a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Haha. You need to sweet talk @ariane37! LOL

See, this is my biggest problem. I just don't know that I can ask my boys to wait 45 min for Happily Ever After (I originally typed Wishes here and had to change it...boo hoo) and then 45 more for OUAT. I've heard that sometimes they do show it before Wishes but there is no notice?? So I guess I am hoping that they do that on the night we are waiting because truthfully, that is probably the only way we see it. I know with CtM, they would do it right before, then afterward, so maybe that's the reasoning...but then why isn't there any rhyme or reason to it. Whatevs. We will play it by ear but my guess is they won't want to wait any more. They will either want to go grab a couple more rides or just head back to the resort. Especially if HEA is moved to 10pm, as expected.

I loooooove that Figment shirt! I would have gotten that for myself if I wore t-shirts.
I know, right? It's pretty cool looking, imo. But like you, I rarely wear regular tshirts unless I am slubbing around the house.

I got excited just reading about your arrival day, so the rest of the outline was gravy. It looks like you have planned a wonderful trip and I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I am so, so, so excited! It is getting so close (but yet, still too far away for my liking...lol). I have imagined arrival day over and over in my mind, just hoping the start and the drive go smoothly (as maybe that will be an indicator for the trip), and then just arriving at Disney, and then driving up to WL. Going inside and looking at that beautiful lobby. I will probably cry at how beautiful it all is. I'm such a Disney sap, aren't I?

But, something is actually going to mess with my perfect arrival. Apparently they are doing construction on the road under the arch, so currently the road goes to the SIDE of the arch and not UNDER it! Ugh. I just found this out last night and I assume it won't be done in less than 2 months. Boo hoo!!

Not an official update or anything, but guys, I just did online registration for AJ for Kindergarten!!! I'm sort of freaking out over here. He can't be old enough for K can he???

Good thing is, he will be coming with me so I can keep a close eye on him...lol.

Ack! My daughter is going to Kindergarten in the fall too. My son's bday is 9/6. He is in kinder this year. But I think because he was almost 6- he just seemed SO ready and it wasn't really a huge shock like it feels for her. Her bday is in Feb, so it isn't like she is super young.... but she just seems much younger than he was. I am already having a really hard time with the idea of leaving their little preschool/daycare. We have been there since my son was 11 months and they just love my kids so much and have been so wonderful. I am getting verchlempt just thinking about it!

I don't have my kids with me. I feel like I am the only person who does this- but I have felt that way since they were babies. Part of the reason is we live like three blocks from a high school and if they came with me, they wouldn't go there (I wouldn't move them in Jr High). It would be convenient though. Mine are in a different district (even though their school is 2 miles from mine) so our breaks don't totally align. That is going to get trickier. This year, the preschool took my son when needed. Next year, our breaks are pretty close- only 4 days different, so that is better.

Their school is Spanish Immersion (math and science and social studies are taught in Spanish) so I keep telling DH that we basically have to take an ABD to a Spanish speaking country when they are in 5th/6th grades- haha!

AJ's birthday is Oct 9, so yeh, he's ready. I'm just not...lol. My youngest is March, so I think he is REALLY young and will worry about him for Kinder. Because we get free Pre-K in GA (do most states do this?) I had to move AJ this year to a new center where they offered the state funded pre-k. but my youngest is at the church preschool that my oldest attended for 2.5 years. This was his first year and he will go again next year before he has to switch for the state funded pre-k.

I have considered switching to a different district but I am not sure they could come with me if I did. In any case, AJ specifically asked to come with me and I would prefer it anyway, because our home school isn't that great. However, once he goes to middle school, I will probably try to get him a permissive transfer to one of the best schools in our district and just keep him in that cluster for middle and high. Its very close to our house (probably 10 minutes) so it wouldn't be that difficult to get him there.

Haha. You need to sweet talk @ariane37! LOL

Pretty pretty please with sugar on top...of a delicious alcoholic Disney drink? lol

My problem is I don't want to watch any videos because I don't want it spoiled, but I also don't want to wait for nothing, so I need the review of someone whose opinion I trust - have my cake and eat it too!

See, this is my biggest problem. I just don't know that I can ask my boys to wait 45 min for Happily Ever After (I originally typed Wishes here and had to change it...boo hoo) and then 45 more for OUAT. I originally typed Wishes in my post too and changed it to fireworks. I'm not ready to type the new show name yet because that means I have let Wishes go. How pathetic is that???

Well I just admitted to being resistant to typing the name of a fireworks show, so I'm in no position to judge now, am I? :rotfl: And I get teary when we drive up and see the Contemporary for the first time - Disney feels are special!

But, something is actually going to mess with my perfect arrival. Apparently they are doing construction on the road under the arch, so currently the road goes to the SIDE of the arch and not UNDER it! Ugh. I just found this out last night and I assume it won't be done in less than 2 months. Boo hoo!!

Is that the "Where Dreams Come True" arch? If so, I would seriously drive around and come in from a different side so I could still have my welcome arch. (see, pathetic?)

It was physically painful for me to register mine for K! And now they're getting ready for 2nd and 4th. At the same time, it's really been fun to see them learning and developing and forming friendships - getting to see the kids in a whole new light. I'm glad you'll get to be together!
