Hi! I'm too cheap to pay for a pedicure (especially when I can get a massage for the same price!). Anyone have any suggestions on painting your own toenails so they look as good as when someone else does them? I can make my feet smooth and pretty, but I haven't quite mastered the painting part!

Also, anyone have any thoughts on the PedEgg? My feet aren't particularly calloused or rough, so I thought it might be more than I'd need. I use a pumice stone now.

The only tip I have for the polish is to use a base coat, two coats of paint, and a top coat. I have no advice for a steady hand. heh I usually just paint a day or two before I know I'm going to be showing off my toes and the "extra" paint that gets on my skin is dried and flaked off by then.

As far as the Ped Egg goes, I love mine - but you have to have a very light hand with it. Don't push hard with it. It's very easy to do too much with it and end up with raw/sensitive heels. It's always better to go very light and then work up to what you need. To be honest, if you don't have rough patches and already use a pumice stone, you might not need it. But for me, it does better than a pumice stone. :)

ask the manicure girl to show you how to paint a nail / toe nail properly. it's done in 3 strokes pretty fast with a steady hand. use an orange stick to dip into nail polish remover to go around cuticle area . do not paint too close. use a base coat , 2 coats of color and a good glossy top coat. let it dry very well so you do not have any smudges.

i know nothing of the ped egg so i can't comment . it does look like a cool gadget though. i might consider getting one.
