For all you concierge fans, I am not sure if anybody ever had this happen to them before - I hadn't read about it previously on the boards.

We checked in for our 6 night stay at the WL at the end of May (had booked a courtyard view with a code from mousesavers) and was offered to stay on the concierge floor with concierge access for an extra $35 per night. We in the end didn't take it - DH likes scrambled eggs, bacon--big hot breakfasts on vacation, and we felt we would be pressured to make it back to the room every day to take advantage of the savings. It was probably the right thing for us, but for those who are concierge fans, you might be interested to know.

We are not sure why we were asked or chosen. We were celebrating an anniversary and had asked for a room upgrade to a jr. suite if possible in our reservation notes. My guess is that it wasn't possible, so they offered this to us, yet we didn't want to spend any more money.

That was a good price but Next yr. when I go I am not going concierge, I will just pay the extra to get a good view. This yr. I guess the BWI did me in, their concierge service wasn't good at all. Plus I rather go to Krispy creme for fresh hot donuts and coffee every morning. LOL we stayed one night not oncierge and 3 nights concierge, I liked non better, I didn't feel like I had to go back to get my moneys worth.:)

I hope I get an offer like that when we check in to WL in January. Did they just ask you out of the blue, or did you inquire?

When we were there in Nov. I asked how much an upgrade would be. we got it for an extra $40. With 2 kids, it was DEF. worth it!

Last year we asked how much an upgrade would be and for $20 a night we went up to concierge.

What a thrill

I might have done it for $20...we didn't ask, they just offered...sounds like if you ask though there are some possibilities...If it's your cup of tea, it's MUCH cheaper than booking it from home on the reservations line, but doesn't sound like you can count on it being available!!!

On one of our trips, we were upgrade to concierge at YC for free! We had 3 kids with us and it was GREAT! This was my 1st concierge experience (well, at Disney). I really enjoy the concierge when the kids are traveling with us. When they're not, it's not as important to me. As adults, we'll just go out and about more.
