For all you concierge fans, I am not sure if anybody ever had this happen to them before - I hadn't read about it previously on the boards.
We checked in for our 6 night stay at the WL at the end of May (had booked a courtyard view with a code from mousesavers) and was offered to stay on the concierge floor with concierge access for an extra $35 per night. We in the end didn't take it - DH likes scrambled eggs, bacon--big hot breakfasts on vacation, and we felt we would be pressured to make it back to the room every day to take advantage of the savings. It was probably the right thing for us, but for those who are concierge fans, you might be interested to know.
We are not sure why we were asked or chosen. We were celebrating an anniversary and had asked for a room upgrade to a jr. suite if possible in our reservation notes. My guess is that it wasn't possible, so they offered this to us, yet we didn't want to spend any more money.
