Just got to our room, room 376, it's a haul from the elevators, but no matter, we are here. This is our first stay at BCV. We stayed last night at Pop and then checking into Kidani on Thursday. Is it bad to say that we didn't care for Pop? Are spoiled by DVC? There is quit a difference between them. Should we feel guilty about this? Tell me it is normal. I will say the CM at the ticket counter in the lobby was wonderful. We asked him how to get to our room and he physically showed us and took us for a quick tour of the facility- how great is that!

Don't feel guilty. I could never stay at Pop or ASx.

Everyone has preferences across DVC but there is no question the rooms at the value and mod resorts do not compare to any DVC rooms. No need to appologize for simply recognizing the difference. That's why you joined DVC. You did not join DVR (Disneys Value Resorts).

good, glad to hear that. Stormalong Bay is absolutely awesome! We had to drag our 2 DS's out. So far the only complaint, if it is one, is our room location. I think we were spoiled by our location at Kidani last October. If that is our only "complaint" this whole stay, then it will be a great stay. More to come later.

Our family is certainly spoiled by DVC. This weekend we were in Portland, Maine and the 4 of us (myself, DH and 2 DS, age 3 and 6) were all in one regular hotel room. Boy, did I miss my DVC!!!!

We love Pop! I do love my DVC though. We like the food court and the shops. Love the themeing too.

Don't feel guilty! Enjoy it!

And DVC has spoiled us, too. And not just at Disney! We can't stay ANYWHERE anymore without comparing it to DVC accommodations!

We have stayed at ASM a couple of times, but DVC has spoiled us- I'll admit it.
Went to eat at Epcot last night, then watched Illuminations, then headed back to get some ice cream at Beaches N Cream- wow! Then we just strolled around the Boardwalk. The boys weren't to interested in the movie on the beach. The crowds this weekend have been pretty heavy.
The GAD fast passes are awesome. We used one voucher at Hollywood Studios for TSM, TOT, RNRC and SWT. Good thing we had it for TSM, b/c the fast passes were gone by 10:30. We will use the other voucher at Magic Kingdom today. Something we did see Saturday night while leaving the ESPN Zone on the Boardwalk: a lady went into labor- what a place to have that happen!

It's not just DVC that will spoil you, we stayed at Yacht Club three consecutive years and the next year a moderate wasn't good enough! During that stay we visited friends staying in a 1 BDR villa and we stopped and talked to DVC on a our departure day and bought into DVC.

Once you've stayed in nicer accommodations at WDW it is difficult to go back to lesser accomodations. I think that is just human nature, nothing to feel guilty about. I was fine with values and moderates until I had a taste of deluxe and DVC. All that being said, if it comes down to it I'd rather stay at All Stars or Pop than nicer places off-property and I'd take a value stay over not being able to go anytime.

What are GAD fastpasses?

Linda

Give A Day. We did it, but we are annual pass holders, so we exchanged them for the fastpasses- it worked pretty well, plus you can hold another fastpass with your park ticket at the same time.
We did the BLT tour at 1:00 today, there were about 30 people there, DH won a prize and we all 4 of us (DH, 2DS's and myself) got special fastpasses (3 fast passes per card for any ride at the parks)for attending it, a DVC bag, 2 lanyards and a notebook, plus they had food- the lollipop cheescake sticks- WOW- YUMMY! The incentives sounded about the same. The host said that BLT and VGC are expected to sell out in July. They mentioned the new boat setting sail in 2012- The Fantasy. It lasted about 50 minutes. It was a good break from the park. Our opinion, BLT isn't for us, but that is JMHO- I know there are people that love- which is fine.

Just a FYI, we all did the GAD promotion as well and were planning on using the GAD voucher for fastpasses too, but we are going to use the one day park entrance and upgrade to an annual pass saving us $84.14 per pass x3. We will save $252.42 on our AP's!

Hey we are here too. We are up on the 4th floor. However we check out tomorrow and head over to AKV for the rest of the week. But I sooooo love the BCV. I am seriously thinking of adding on points so that we could stay here all the time..

Would you mind posting the hours at SAB this week. We'll be there in less than two weeks and I was curious what the hours might be. The last time we were there, June 2007, it closed at 5:00 everyday - we're hoping for better hours this trip.

I'm with you Mike. We stayed ONE night at ASMU on Thanksgiving night of 2008. We were at SSR for a week and never could get the last night. SO...I booked the ASMU Family Suite. :scared1: We didn't like it, our kids didn't like it and we felt out of place after being at a DVC resort. Never again. Sad thing...we are elgible to stay at Shades of Green but I didn't book that night because I was sure that we would get our waitlist and you have to cancel SOG 30 days in advance. So I didn't book there because if we had gotten our waitlist...I would be out the money. LESSON LEARNED.

I think it is OK to feel that way. I know how hard my husband and I both work to afford our DVC. People pick and choose what they want to spend their money on. We don't have the best of everything, but when it comes to Disney Vacations, we want the best. I value our family vacations and to have DVC is a blessing! :cloud9:

Couldn't have said it better myself:thumbsup2

crowds have definetely thinned out yesterday and today. went to DTD yesterday, early evening. We thought the bus ride to and from was long: it stops at Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Swan,Dolphin and Typhoon Lagoon. DH and myself said to each other that we wouldn't do that again. Our 2 DS's did the marshmallow roasting on the beach- they enjoyed that, then we watched Illuminations from the beach.
Today, went to Animal Kingdom, the first bus was late for some reason, even the CM at the bus stop was radioing trying to find out what was going on. Didn't have a problem with the major rides: rode expedition everest 3 times in a row, then kali- 10 minute wait and then the safari ride- 15 minute wait, dinosaur was the longes at 20 minutes. Then came back for some swimming at SAB. They are painting the hallways and powerwashing the outside, the workers are actually right outside our patio washing, the boys thinks it pretty cool.
Tonight is our last night here. We then move to Kidani for Thursday and Friday night. We actually extended our stay there by 1 night. I called MS and asked if they had a room for Friday night- which they did. :thumbsup2
