At AKV Jambo House Right Now!!!

we are in room 7208, the view has been wonderful (giraffe's, zebra's, eland's, ostriches). it is 3 doors down from the arcade and laundry room. a quick 2 minute walk from the lobby. we made our reservations for next September and requested this room. i don't know what size room you want, but ours is a studio. we have 2 boys (10 & 9). We can't wait to come back no guarantee's on requests or rooms, but it never hurts to ask.

Thanks for getting back to me - we just confirmed our reservation and we are staying in a studio as well - our boys are 7 and 9. i put in the request for sunset savanna near the lobby. i know it's just a request, but we are going early march so i am hoping to get close. I didn't want to be too request specific, do you think i should be more specific?

It's up to you. For us, this location worked perfect. We did 3 loads of laundry and being this close was so convenient. Not a long walk to lobby or arcade. Some people might not like this location, but for us, it's been great
Have fun and relax. This is our 2nd trip to the world. The first time seemed so rush, rush. This time, as DVC memebers,soooooooo relaxing (which is what vacation is). Sanaa was also good to eat. We didn't have reservations,but got in within 10 minutes. We had a table right by the window and saw animals as we ate. I could go on and on, but I won't.

We thought the buses were fine. The only one that seem to take the longest was going to DD. Why does it seem like they take the scenic route to get there

Last night my DH and I went to the wishes dessert party, and i thought it was just okay. I am glad i did it once but i wasn't that impressed. I would be just as happy getting icecream or something from the bakery and watching wishes somewhere else.

Today is our last day and we went back to epcot, had lunch at Coral Reef. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but I didn't think the food was that good today. We came back for a break and played games at the pool. We go back tonight for dinner at Garden Grill.

Today was record highs again but i am not looking foward to going back to Indiana weather.

We were also sad, we wonder why if they can have them in the lobby, why cant we have them in the room.

Totally agree on the wishes desert party also- won't do it again. Today is our last day also. Leave tomorrow morning for the drive back to northern Indiana. Good thing we have our next trip planned- very bummed we have to leave to go back to cold and snow

Last night we went back to Epcot and had dinner at Garden Grill. We have ate here before and this time i thought the food was not very good. The characters were great though and chip played peekaboo with my DS1 and he thought it was so funny.

Our last ride was Spaceship Earth and we went back early to pack everything up.

Had a flight out at 1045. So we are now back home in the somewhat cold rainy weather.

I will post a recap later. I have to do the dreaded unpacking

Okay so for recap

All in all we had a great vacation. The first week was the best. The weather was not so hot and it was just us. The second week was really hot and we had more people, which is not always that great, to many different opinions.

After this trip we decided not to do the DDP anymore. I think it would be okay if you are staying a few nights, but after 12 days it was way to much food. We felt like we were just eating because we had to and already paid for it. We ended up have 9 counter services, 2 table services and 1 snack left over. There were to many days to have to be somewhere at a certain time. And really does seem like to me that the food was getting worse.

We did have alot of fun and have decided to come the same 2 weeks almost every year. We loved the halloween party. The crowds were great and the weather would have been perfect except for the heat wave, but we heard it is usually never that hot.

We really liked the AKV, and we all thought that Kidani was better than Jambo, except the no counter service but it really wasn't that big of a deal to walk to Jambo.

I don't think we get to come next year so i guess i have 2 years to plan for the next one.

Not boring at all - very informative!
I enjoyed reading about every day of your vacation.

We are going for 9 days in Oct 2010 and can't decide between Jambo & Kidani and really think we will do a split, too. On moving day, it wasn't a hassle to have your stuff with bell services, right? I am thinking that will be our "no parks" day and we will rest.
