Hi everybody.

I am curious about the smoke from the fires affecting Disney World. I am traveling with my kids one of whom is an asthmatic. Should we keep his nebulizer (machine that dispenses his meds through an air compressor) with us in the parks? Is there a place to use it since it must be plugged in. He doesn't use it often, in fact hasn't had an attack in almost 8 weeks.

Someone who just got back please let us know!! It will be very much appreciated!

9 days and counting!

Welcome to disABILITIES.
You can always go to First Aid in any of the parks to use your son's nebulizer. There are RNs there who can help you and the area is quiet and calming with individual cubicles with a cot, chair, table and an outlet. I'm not sure if the restrooms have outlets anywhere that you could use. in a pinch, I'm sure that a CM could direct you to somewhere that you could plug it in. I know the counter service restaurants have outlets in the table areas because I have seen CMs using vaccuum cleaners.
you might also want to search on this board for "asthma". I know someone posted about a battery operated nebulizer not long ago.

Thank you all very much. I have since posted another thread! So many questions! But 2 years ago he had an attack in the park and had to be taken to the hospital we just don't want to face that again.

I did find out though from a CM (yes I called them with questions too) that the bathrooms have recepticles too if we can't make it to a First Aid station.
