ASSports pool closed?

I thought I saw a post recently about the main pool at Sports being closed in September, but now I can't find anything. It's not posted on allears.net, and I can't find any info on the DIS either. DH and I are heading down Sept. 20 and I'd like to find out for sure.....

Here is what I gathered from a site when I googled "Disneys All Star Sports pool closed"
Renovation Notice:
The hotel's Surfboard Bay pool and Kiddie pool are scheduled to be closed for renovations, beginning August 27 and are expected to reopen September 14, 2007. The Grand Slam pool will remain open and guests can take advantage of the four other pools at Disney's All-Star Music Resort and Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. These dates are subject to change.

I Will be staying there for one night only before being upgraded to SSR. I wouldn't stay if one of the main pools was closed. It would make things way to crowded @ other pools.
Looks like you should have no problem with the dates you'll be there!!

Just be careful with the renovation taking "longer" then expected. This is what happened with the ASMu pool over the spring. I believe the renovation took an extra week or two before it finally reopened. Maybe someone can shed more light on that though!

Thanks for the replies. It seems strange that there's not more info about the closing. Usually these things are all over the boards!

My son's baseball team will be staying there for a tornament during that time. IT stinks about the pool. I booked POFQ for my family.Now I'm extra glad I did.

For Guest convenience, the Grand Slam Pool will remain open. Guests may also take advantage of the four other pools offered at Disney's All-Star Music Resort or Disney's All-Star Movies Resort.

This information was discovered by calling CRO and directly from several Walt Disney World CMs. I noticed this was a new change to the refurb dates and wanted to share.

This is a RECENT and sudden change... and was only discovered when someone went to make a payment for there reservation. Several phone calls later to confirm.

This is going to make alot of people unhappy including my family , we will be there Sept. 12-19. About how long does it take to walk over to the other AS pools?
