Newbie here. What is the scoop on naming someone an associate member on your contract? I bought 2 groups of points, naming my kids along with me so that when I'm gone, they don't have any hassles (and make some att'y richer with probate) but am curious as to what the advantage/disadvantage to having assoicate members on your stuff.

Thanks.

Associate members are able to make reservations, but all mailings will be sent to the primary member on the deed. Associates are not members themselves - basically you're only giving them the ability to make reservations - and you'll still need to make suitable estate arrangements to legally transfer ownership at a later date.

Thanks for the explanation, Doc. I was talking about that with my friend (who is also a DVC member) the other day, and she has had quite a hassle getting her deceased husband rmoved from the contract.
