I don't know if this is common in the elderly, but at the end of my grandmother's life, she started talking like a baby and wanted to be treated like a baby. My mom's doing the same thing now and it's scaring my dad. I went to check up on him yesterday and he was just sitting in his chair staring at a wall. Poor dad.
He's so used to being angry at her and having her be so mean all the time. That's all he's known, so now he doesn't quite know how to feel (kinda like me).
