Aspiring to be a Disney Server?

I worked at a Chili's in a small town, and most dinner shifts servers made $100 (in tips, not including their salary). Is there really not a non-disney place in Orlando you can do this without the super long seniority wait?

I already have a job where I make 100 a night. But in Orlando Disney is famous for being the best place to have a serving job at. So I hope it is worth it and i'm sure it is.

Can you share the math?

If I select the most expensive appetizer ($18 - the cheese or the sushi), entree ($47 - signature duo), throw in a side for good measure ($12 - asparagus), and dessert ($9 - concession trio), I "only" get $86 for a person. V&A menu prix fixe begins at $135.00 per guest.

The wine could change things, but I'd imagine many people get the V&A wine pairing at $65 per person (minimum), so it's not like Flying Fish guests drink $50+ of wine while V&A guests drink $0.

What am I missing?

Likely accounting for table turnover? VA would only have 2 seats FF could turn a table over 3-4 times from 530 to 10? Possibly more liquor another drinks compared to a flat wine fee with dinner at VA?

Just kinda find it funny that with the difficulty in becoming a server and the demerit system in place to insure adequate service that whenever there's a lousy dining experience thread here so many complain about poor service. I have eaten in many a restaurant in both DL and WDW over the last 45 years and I can honestly say if I've ever had bad service I don't remember it!:)

Well the way disney is set up there actually aren't many steps of service (with the exception of V&A of course) so they have a lot more time to spend with the tables. as well as they bus their own tables so they just set their own pace. Its a genius service model that only a restaurant with Disney's volume and other amenities (fireworks, etc) can pull it off.
