Are small pets allowed there? Have a 4lb Maltese that I'd hate to leave behind - thanks in advance

No, only service animals are allowed on WDW property with the exception of some campsites (not cabins) in fort wilderness.

No pets in the resorts. You can have them at Ft.Wilderness in your camper in certain areas.

There is a kennel at WDW.

Or you can board your pet at the kennel on Disney property. Thought about doing that last year for our 6 lb. fur baby but I couldn't afford the extra expense and my ex ended up watching him.

Just in case you don't already know, there is a Best Friends Pet Resort across from PORQ where you can board your dog. Also, if you ever decide to take a walk on the dark side, the Universal Studios resort hotels allow dogs. We've taken our German shepherd with us twice when we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel.

When we would leave US & do a day trip to WDW, we would put him in Best Friends for the day. We dropped him off in the morning & picked him up when we were done. It worked out really well & we loved having that option.

It might be cheaper and easier to find someone at home to watch your dog instead of bringing the dog to WDW and paying someone to watch it and tend to it.

I could never leave my dog in a kennel, so I always had a dog sitter that would stay overnight. She was great. I got plenty of references before I chose her dog sitting service. She was less expensive than boarding my dog and I know my dog felt more comfortable at home. Have a great trip!!

No, they do everything for you. They also have different sized rooms. I have a German shepherd so I choose the biggest room I can for him but just so you know, the dogs aren't placed in tiny cages or anything like that. Search the DIS and you can find pictures. There's a whole thread on it but I forget if it's on this board or the theme parks board.

You can also visit whenever you want and spend time with your dog.
