I know all about Pop Warner:scared1: Me and DH are planning on going a little earlier next year for our anniversairy and he has suggested ASMu (bless him,its to complete my set of all 3 AS resorts:hug:)
We are intending to go for 12 days at the beginning of October-are there loads of school groups then? I've visited ASSp before at this time and don't remember seeing lots of groups.
Also are all the rooms in Calypso and Jazz the family suites?

There can be school trips at ANY time. PW is the first week in December. They have a web site you can see. FYI-I have been at the values during PW more than once and have never had any issues and I am by no means Kid Friendly.

School groups go more in May, right before school lets out.

There are things that go on in October, like cheer competitions and the Food and Wine Festival that do fill up resorts quite a lot.

Depends upon the school group--in TN school groups go during spring breaks which can be March or April. In KY school groups visit for band "stuff" in February. Yes, F&W will be a BIG factor in how quickly the hotels fill up as it is quite the draw--and deservedly so!

Yes, the school groups go all year. Grad nights go in April and May, but there are other school groups all year long.

We have stayed at ASMU in October as well as ASMO and it was only once we had a group. It was a huge group of cheerleaders from Central America and they were at times completely out of control. The ASMU cm's did kick a bunch of them out of the pool one night but on the busses and at the food court, it was not a good scene. We were there ten nights and it was I believe our second to the last night when they all arrived. Major bummer.

Where I noticed the big issue with their behavior was the pool. So our last afternoon, we went over to Sports and used their pool. No cheerleaders over there that day. That is one nice thing about the All Stars, they are connected so if the groups are overruning your resort, try the one next door it may be fine!

I do think one way to avoid the groups is to book preferred. Most of those groups do not book preferred and they seem to be put in the back of the resort (in our case it was Country Fair where they all were).

The All Stars are the place the kids' groups go, whether its a school type function or just tour groups from other countries. Its always a gamble!

last year in the first week of october, there were many brazilian tour groups in the parks.

none of them stayed at sports when i was there.

did not see any school groups during my time period.
first week of october.

All of the family suites are in Calypso and Jazz. But not all the rooms in Calypso and Jazz are family suites.

Thnaks for that -I was wondering!

Thanks everyone for your replies-it doesn't sound too bad. We had issues with a huge school group at PC a couple of years back, because Disney reserved half the food court for their use.
