ASMu Map/Layout

We`re thinking about staying at the ASMu in September. I don`t really want to pay the extra $$ for a prefered room. Does anyone have any recommendations on buildings that are close to the front but wouldn`t cost extra? Is there a map of the ASMu online anywhere? Maybe I`ll get lucky and get a nice CM who`ll honor a room request.

You can always request, but are not guaranteed which section you will be staying in.
Since Calypso is preferred, I suspect everyone asks for Jazz.

We have stayed in Calypso (pool view) and Rock Inn.
We had friends who stayed in Broadway while we were in Calypso.

Nothing is a REAL far walk, although the Fair section could certainly seem like it to those roomed there.

ASMu has more of a bowling alley layout. Long hall -- straight back.

The other AS are laid out not as far back, and more sideways.

I believe that the prefered view rooms at Calypso [bldgs 1 & 10] are only those that look towards the pool area. There are a lot more rooms facing away from the pool and are considered standard view. You are able to see a little bit of the parking lots from these rooms, but there is a lot of lawn, trees, and shrubs between you and the parking lots.

All the rooms at Calypso are considered preferred, if you reserve preferred you'll be put in Calypso either facing the pool or not. If Calypso isn't full, they'll often upgrade non preferred guests to non pool view Calypso rooms at no charge.

We stayed in Jazz and it was wonderful. We asked for as quiet an area as we could get and we were put on the backside of the bldg on the third floor. It was incredibly quiet. And we looked out on a courtyard type area. We had about a 45 second longer walk than those staying in Calypso bldgs. to the main bldg with bus stop, food court and gift shop. Jazz would be my choice.
