Hi there. We are going to be staying at ASMu in one of the family suites in September(we have a party of 6 going). We haven't tried the suites as of yet and my dh is worried about the comfort of the pull outs. After a 20 hour drive from Ontario, Canada, he is concerned about adding insult to injury by bunking on the couch pull out(he has a fussy lower back).

Does anyone have any experiences to share on this(good or bad) so we maybe can rethink our sleeping arrangements before we get there?

Thanks so very much!

I would like to know this too. We've done Port Orleans once, Wilderness lodge twice, Beach Club, but times are tough and I rather stay longer (13 Days) with free dining, that shorter at a Deluxe. Are we in for a dissapointment:confused3 ?

Last year I shared a couch pull out with my then 13yr old niece. I am pretty picky when it comes to beds, and I slept just fine. My then 16yr old nephew slept on the chair pull out, and he said it was fine too.

Disney had them specially designed without that bar running underneath your back that most pull outs have. So they are pretty comfortable. However they are a little low, and I did have to kind of roll out of bed in the mornings.

Who are you vacationing with? Is there any way you and your hubby could get the queen bed in the bedroom instead of a pull out?

Hi there. Thanks for your reply. The party consists of myself, my dh, and our two boys (7 and 5) and then dh's brother and his daughter(8). We are thinking of different configurations, and them taking the bedroom and us taking all of the pull outs makes the most sense so far, but we are trying to figure out alternatives in case my dh's back bothers him.

We thought of putting all the kids in the same room, but she likes to sleep with a television on all night(with sound) while if my kids woke up and saw a t.v. on, they would not go back to sleep no matter what the time.

This is my niece's first real trip of any kind(where better than Disney to have a first trip:cloud9:) so we want to make it the best it can be and hopefully sleep deprived kiddos can be avoided.

Thanks so much for your input and any more would be appreciated as well(I'm a plan-a-holic:rotfl:)

My DD slept on it when she was 5, and she did fine (as most kids do), but there's no way I'd sleep on it. Like most hotel pull-outs, the mattress is quite thin and to me, very uncomfortable. To someone with back problems, this would seem like torture, I'm quite sure.

Good luck.

We stayede there last Sept. (DH, DS19, DS17, DD9, DD6 and Me) The boys took the pull-out couch and had no problems at all. Girls took the other pullouts and everyone slept fine. They actually said they were pretty comfortable. Both boys are 6'0 ...DDs small, we took the bed! ;)

we haved stayed there and our sons took the bed so we could stay up later and have access to the TV and fridge etc- plus I dont like them staying in the outside room alone at their age - anyways my husband ( who is picky) and I were fine- no the pull out beds are not the Waldorf but they fine for an adult. I thought there was only two pullouts - one a single bed and one a double so how do you get six people in that? am I wrong- we were only four so we did not need more then the pull our couch. but maybe two young ones can stay in the single bed.- or is there a pull out in the bedroom too that I am forgetting?

I slept on the pull-out and it was okay, but of course, I was exhausted from being at Disney World! I thought it was hard to get out - there is a large hinge on the side and it always seemed to pinch my thigh.

To the PP asking about 6 people - two people on the couch, one on the chair and one on the pullout ottoman. There are pictures on the resorts section here on the DIS that shows them all opened.

It all depends on how much time you spend in that room. When the pullouts are pulled out...there is very little room to move around. We stayed in one for one night this past Thanksgiving. We are DVC members and always stay in a 2br. Well there were no 2 bedrooms anywhere for Thanksgiving night so after staying at SSR for 7 we moved over to ASMU for that one night. My kids didn't like them at all. Our 18 year old daugther took the sleeper sofa and the two boys ages 15 and 9 took the chair and ottoman. They were very thankful it was just for one night. We are used to bigger/better accomodations so that might have been a big part of it. If I ever stayed there again....which I probably won't....we would get two connecting rooms. It just depends on your need for the little kitchenette.
