ASMo vs. ASMu - HELP!

OK, I need some opinions, I know I've seen random thoughts in different posts, but here's my question: We currently have reses at ASMo for Sept 21-28. But, I've noticed a lot of people saying ASMo is run down. Is ASMu better? My kids are 5 and 7, so I know the theming at ASMo is better for that age, but we stayed at Pop last year and they were excited about the theming there (just giant icons excite them I guess!!). I wanted to try somewhere different this year, but am now wondering if I should switch our rese from ASMo to ASMu. When was ASMu refurbished last? THANKS everyone!!

Between the 2, I would go with the All Star Music. The rooms there have been refurbished in the not so distant past, while the rooms at the Movies have not. Also, at the Music they play games by the pool during the day, and show movies at night. I found swimming and watching a Disney movie a great way to end a day!

Well, given all the information I found on here, I have changed my reservations to All Star Music. We'll just take the kids to visit Buzz one evening but hopefully enjoy our updated rooms every evening! Thanks for the assist!

We've stayed at both of them and I have to say... drum roll please. Go with ASMu. If you want to see the movie theming walk over and check it out. But the pool activities at ASMu is the real kicker. Practice up on your Wii Ski Jump action. Movies every night from the pool.

I know you've already changes your reservations, but our choice would be to stick with AS Movies. I actually prefer the older decor over the new refurbed decor at AS Music. Even though it was "newer", it seemed a lot cheaper to me (plus it was already fairly worn even though it was just a couple of years old). It felt like Disney went to Wal-Mart to get their furniture for the AS Music rooms.

I like the more kitschy decor of the AS Movies with the giant stars above the beds, the popcorn themed sconce and the movie style tile in the bathroom. It's like they tried to make the AS Music appear more "upscale", but I think they failed.

The grounds at the AS Movies are more "Disney" to me as well with Toy Story, 101 Dalmations and Fantasia. You can always head over to the AS Music pool if you want more activities in the afternoon. AS Music main pool is a lot better IMHO.

ETA: If you are at the AS Music and don't stay in either Calypso or Jazz Inn, you can expect a very long walk to and from the main pool, food court and bus stops. At the AS Movies, the furthest walk is two buildings. At the Music, you're three plus building away.

All Star Music, definitely! If you don't pay for a preferred view, ask for the Jazz building because it is the closest without paying more.

ASMu is our fav value. We have stayed there twice and have loved it both times. Great bus service, great foodcourt, fun activities by the pool, the movies by the pool at night are a perfect way to unwind after a hot day at the parks and it is bright, cheery and very "Disney".
