We're staying at ASMo with two of our granddaughters in Feb. I know we can get a fridge for $10/day but we're thinking of bringing a cooler just for milk and juice since the only thing they will eat for breakfast most days is cereal. Is ice available at the resort (free in machines) or will we have to truck it in from outside?

Also, my knees aren't what they used to be. How can I increase my chances of getting a ground-floor room? We'll probably be checking in late, if that makes a difference.

There are free ice machines in each building. We also just bring a cooler instead of paying for a refrigerator.

Have your request - ground floor room - noted on your reservation and also request it again on check-in at the resort. Lots of people request upper floor rooms, so I think you should have a good chance of getting a ground floor room.

Yes they have ice machines, so you dont need to bring any.
And about getting a ground room, you need to request one or else I don't think you will get one.

Good news...AS Mu has elevators. My knees aren't too good either, and we've never had a ground floor room, but have always been offered a room close to the elevator!

There are ice machines on each floor in each building. Relax, you'll have a great time!

There are ice machines on each floor of each building.

The buildings in the Value resorts are shaped like big T's. The elevators, ice machines, and vending machines are located at the intersection of the T.

Definitely put your request for a ground-floor room onto your ressie. You can do this by calling the Disney Reservations Center any time, just like you dod to make your ressie. It will only take a moment or two to add the preference to your ressie. Mention that you are asking for health-related reasons, not just for preference, and you'll have an excellent chance of getting what you want, especially in February when the resorts are not very crowded.

And don't be surprised if the housekeepers put fresh ice into your cooler for you when they make up your room each day. Some of them (but not all) do so for Guests in their sections out of sheer courtesy.
