I'd love to do this with my kids. I know my four year old would get a huge kick out of it.

But I don't know how the process works?

I'd love any advice!

Thanks!

I'd like to know if they are still doing it after the accident:confused3. As for how to do it it's pretty easy, esp if you go during a SLOW time. We were at the monorail like 2pm or something, when no one was going out of the park (MK). We asked the guy standing there about it. He said he already had someone for the next train but we were welcome to wait if we wanted, so we did. Ended up waiting longer since the next one had a new driver in training and they're not allowed to take riders. But the third one was all ours. It was lots of fun, great views and DS was thrilled. All that wait time there were maybe 20 people that got on the monorail, so it was a very slow time of day.

My daughter would love to do it, but I'm too shy to ask! I might get my mother, the loudmouth, to ask though.

Does anybody have a link to the story about the accident? I have heard a bit about it, but am not sure what really happened.:confused3

They still weren't letting guests do it when I asked on Oct. 24th.

Before the accident this summer, if things weren't TOO busy (NOT after a fireworks show ends or park closes) I would always just go to the cast member on the cab end of the platform and ask "Could we wait to ride in the front?" and they'd say 'OK' 99% of the time and point me where they wanted me to wait, usually a separate corral area. I used to do it at least once every trip.

Good luck and hopefully they'll start allowing it again soon. From what I've read I think they ARE permitting it at DL so that gives me hope it will come back to WDW.
