Asking for an upgrade at WL

A few questions about getting an upgrade at WL-

1) Generally, how easy is it to get one? I know it probably depends on the time you go. We'll be there in early June.

2) How much of an uppgrade should I try for? If I book a standard view, will they only bump me up to a woods view?

3) If you're given the upgrade, can you ask for a specific room and be given it if it's available?

I wouldn't. They are doing you a favor upgrading you. Anymore might be considered being greedy.

When we were there in March for a quickie three night trip we asked how much an upgrade to concierge would be. Ir was $100 a night and we decided against it as we felt we wouldn't be there long enough to really enjoy it. I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you are asking for a free upgrade I would not count on it. I would book what I wanted. Upgrades are given, but I would never expcet one.

Free upgrades are sometimes given when you least expect them and during slow times of the year. Since January 2004 we have stayed at the WL 3 times. During our trips in January 2004 and 2005 we were upgraded to a courtyard view (which includes the quiet pool--courtyard facing the WLV) we had a woods view reserved. But last summer (middle of July) we had a woods view room and that is exactly what we ended up with. No upgrades then. The resort was busy and it wasn't offered. We have never asked for an upgrade and never expected one, so are always surprised when it does happen.

Last July we booked a woods view room and new nothing about possible comp upgrades or about asking for one.

We were given a magical upgrade to an inner courtyard bear face room from a woods view room that we had booked

We have once again booked a woods view room for our upcoming July trip. We shall see if any happens this trip. We can always hope.
