Will my DD2 feel out of place if she doesn't have a princess dress on??? She is not really one for costumes. We do have a Belle t-shirt. She does love Belle. Thanks!!!

When we went (a few years ago) less than half the girls were dressed up.
The most important thing is that she's comfortable. I think I Tshirt would be fine. It's fun when "her" princess makes a fuss over her clothes.

We have been many times and I would agree that it is less than half that are dressed. Even if she was the only one the staff and princesses would treat her great.

I think you made a good choice. We usually hit 5 princesses here where only 3 at CRT because they throw in Godmother

We're doing the same thing...the Disney store at our mall had princess tshirts in all the characters for $4.99. Can't beat that!

My daughter lovers her princess dresses for play, but they are synthetic, tight, and itchy. Not fun to wear around the park...or for me to stuff in my bag when she's done with it.

We're leaving the dresses at home--and we'll buy her a tiara or minnie ears while we're there.

Thanks everyone for your responses. We are leaving next thursday(driving from Pittsburgh) and I am getting so excited for her. We but lots of those $4.99 t-shirts at our disney store also!!!

Just do what SHE wants. She's the princess during that dining moment, so she decides what to wear. I've just been there last week and what I've seen? About 1/3th of the girls in princess dresses, 1/3th in other caractre outfit (shirt, short, shoes, hairribbons, combination of these or singular) and 1/3th in their every day clothing. She can wear whatever she wants and not feel out of place. With a dress on she'll get compliments on the dress for sure! With a princess-shirt she'll get comments on that to. None of the above? She'll get enough of attention of the princesses and not feel weird at all. Because I must say, the princesses really took their time with each and every table, even going back to a table if they had just come after the princess would have hit their table or they were just getting some food. I've seen worse at caractre dining.

Definately bring out your camera. When I was there Belle -in the yellow dress- was the princess taking the pictures in the front, so that would be THE oppertunity for your DD.

Also at her age maybe it's an option to go "in between" if she wants to go for a dress. Not the costume ones that are sweaty and itchy, but a real nice dress she's got anyway that makes her look pretty, do up her hair in a way she thinks is special, maybe even give here a tiara and she'll feel Royal anyway big time. They don't need the specific Belle/Sleeping Beauty/whatever princess dress for that. This way you don't need to buy a dress that she might not want to wear (just bring something she's allready got) and she can pick right then and there; what do you want to wear to dinner, the shirt or the dress?

I'm taking DS7 and DH, can't see either of them wanting to dress in Princess costumes. Though if either want to I will try and embrace their individualism.

We have never dressed up. My dd had her autograph book and wore her "special" outfit. (In other words, what she thought was her best outfit). The princesses always made comments about her mickey ears, cute bows, or other souviners. They always called her princess. They will do a GREAT job of making her feel special no matter what!

I was wondering, too, if my DDs would be out of place if they did not dress-up in full Princess attire for our Akershus lunch (coming up in Oct). I so did not want to have to lug costumes/dresses around the park all day or waste time going back to the hotel after lunch just to change clothes.

I bought my girls Princess tee shirts and denim skorts from the DisneyStore to wear when they meet the Princesses

I know everyone has already said it, but I'll echo the posts. My girls (5 and 8) never wore the costumes, they always get fawned over and never have felt out of place. In fact, the one time my little one did wear a costume (BBB in DtD) she really was itchy and hot in it. Plus those shoes, don't even get me started! We always wear something with the princesses on it or I've had outfits made with princess material and they've always been happy and comfortable.

I don't think she'll be out of place. I'm wearing a custom designed tee I had done with all the princesses on it. (Disney store really doesn't carry enough women's clothing with princesses.)

Your daughter will be just fine not being dressed. My partner and I go to this breakfast meal and if anyone should feel out of place it should be us. Two grown men amongst all of the princesses! LOL The staff and princesses made us feel like we were part of the party and it makes for a great start to the day! Have fun! We are from the Pittsburgh area, btw!

My girls wore comfortable cotton sundresses; they wanted to dress up more than their tank tops and shorts but didn't want to be uncomfortable all day! They looked very cute and the princesses said they liked their dresses!
This may be a good alternative for your dd.

No she wont. My 3 year old niece wore her Ariel tee shirt with matching shorts and when Ariel came out (huge surprise for us) she made a big to do about Kayla wearing her on her clothes so she can take her wherever she goes. It was so cute and even cuter when my niece annouces (loudly) I even have you on my panties! Got to hand it to Ariel, she kept her composure! She said Oh that is nice and gave my niece another hug
