Ashes spread in WDW

Spreading Ashes at WDW is known as their "Dont's ask, don't tell" policy. If you ask, the answer will be "no". But others have done it.

I'm going to spread my mother's ashes at different casinos in Vegas. My friend took her mother to her favorite golf course and sprinkled her at every hole.

Makes me think of Keith Richard's recent quote where he said he snorted some of his father's ashes. And hey, thanks to Pirates III, Keef is a Disney star too!

Also, the bones are ground up if there are any fragments whatsoever after cremation. This is done before cremains are handed over to the family.There ARE no bone fragments.

Well, I'm looking right now at DFIL's ashes and there are some fragments in addition to the ashes. Right now, the 1/2 remains we have (SIL has other "half") are in a large plastic Frango jar since we had to transport the ashes in our car from WA to CA. Hey, he loved Frangos, so why not?

I am going partially over a baseball park and partially at WDW. The other posters are right, when done discreetly in a small amount, they would never be able to stop you. It is already in the will and i am a very young 32...

Whoops, DD6 rarely goes anywhere without picking up rocks, shells, twigs and assorted bits of nature for her "collection".
As she's asking what it is, half the time I'm not even looking, just telling her to put it down cause it's not ours.

I cannot see spending big bucks on a funeral. While I have loads of great friends my son will not attend and I am pretty sure my daughter has some sort of meeting the day of my funeral so I see no sense in wasting money on a hole in the ground.

I have informed my bil that I want to be spread over his meadow. It is his favorite view from his favorite chair. It is one way to get revenge on the male members of my dh's family.

I told him not to spend big bucks on a container that any old tin can will do. He pointed to a nut can (seemed appropriate to both of us) and inquired as to whether he could stretch the budget for a new can or just find an empty one.

I told him that if he felt it necessary to have some sort of celebration I reckoned he could spring for a full new can, cashews even, and serve them as refreshments. He was wondering if enough would attend to eat them all.

My youngest grandson questioned my arrangements but when I explained it was either a big funeral for me or a college education for him he saw the wisdom of my ways.

ok i am all for spreading ashes at wdw , but if you really think about it, you shed skin all the time as you walk around the parks , so next time i am sad my trip is over , i will remember part of me, maybe a small part , but a part just the same. is still there.

Every so often this topic pops up. In order to transport cremains on a plane, you are supposed to also carry a certificate of transport to carry human cremains. No cruise line will "let" you sprinkle cremains. Disney of course, does not allow this either.

We recently transported cremains on a plane. All we needed was the certificate that came with the cremains. No special certificate needed. But you do need to transport them in a non-metal sealed container and carry them on board with you. Can't be in checked luggage.

I recently watched Kathy Griffin's reality show where she spread her dad's ashes in Ireland. They brought the ashes in his prescription bottles. I wish we had thought of that.

So if you are a Disney shareholder, you technically are part owner of WDW and should conceivably be allowed to scatter ashes there - doncha think???

Hey, we leave all our hard earned money there so why should we not be allowed to go back for an eternal visit when we die?

I truly do think that if enough interest was shown in this DW just might provide a final resting place, for a price of course.

I think the greatest ash spreading would be to have some of your ashes placed in each of the WDW resort pools, that way you could perform the ultimate pool hopping ploy of all time (and you don't need to worry about the reprocutions)

Yep, among other bodily fluids. Men feel the need to mark their territory while women seemed inclined to neaten things up.

Glad I gave your dh a laugh. That is what I live for.

I am off to trim bushes. Since I got attacked by a rose bush and a frog (cement version) I am sure to leave some of 'myself' in this project as well.

For anyone looking for Slightly Goofy during September at DW just look for the woman with all the injuries on her legs. I look like I have been in a war. (and lost)
