Ashes spread in WDW

Disney8704 - thank you for your thoughts. We go every year in his honor and I always feel his presence in kind of a healing and bittersweet way.

Good to hear others have made their wishes known to partners, tongue-in-cheek or not -

And yes, indeed, if Disney offered a "package", I'd definitely look into it!!! Part of me still thinks DH is there somewhere in MK>

DH is quite a bit older than me so he expects to die first. And he has requested that most of his ashes be scattered here in NH but wants me to save some for Fort Wilderness and for Saratoga Springs. I figure I'll just take a ziploc bag out on an early morning walk.

My friends and I have talked about this alot. Every year we have a girls weekend and they all swear that they will sprinkle me around alittle in each park. I told my hubby he didn't have to worry about it. Although I did make him swear that if something ever happened to me he was to still go to Disney every year with the kids. Than they could visit me there. Hopefully this won't be for a really long time for any of us!!!

We also did a backstage tour in MK about 2 yrs ago and the cm said that there was a woman who petitioned DIsney to have her picture placed under a plate in HM. Disney granted her final request and I hear her picture is under a plate in the dining room scene.

when my mother passed away we put her ashes out at sea... with a pastor that could fly (now thats multitasking!) At first I was kinda weird about it, but then i realized that I wouldn't want it anyother way... but now I am think Seven Sea's lagoon... perfect!

After my Dad passed away, my Mom took a baggie of his remains to WDW. We sprinkled some in the grass near the gravestones at the Haunted Mansion and some in the grass near Splash Mountain (his two favorite rides). The rest of his remains are still in an urn that we will eventually take to Canada and put into his favorite lake there, but I'm not sure when that will ever happen. He passed away in 1999 and we scattered the Disney remains in early 2000.

I told my wife to scatter my ashes at the local shopping mall. That way she will visit me three times a week.

:lmao:

I will say that it was very emotional to scatter my Dad's ashes at WDW. It was hard to deal with because that was the place where he really was the happiest, and we have the best childhood memories there. I actually cried one of the last times we went there when I found out that they had changed the menu at Pinnochio's, because that was "the" place where we had lunch with my Dad every visit.

Life changes, right? :)

glad I'm not alone in my planning.....we were actually just talking about this a few weeks ago on our last trip down :wizard:

We talk about this every time we go!! I figure it isn't allowed, but my family has all agreed that when no one is looking, we'll dump each other's ashes somewhere on property!!
Too funny!

After seeing how many people have done this, I wonder how many people are scattered around disney! Weird!

I don´t mind Heely´s. Smokers don´t bother me. I´ve come to terms with line cutting. Brazilian groups amuse me, just like any teenage group. I really try to not get riled up about anything at Disney and enjoy my vacations.

This crossed my line.

Think about it; if you own a business, would it continue to be successful if your customers, when they died, had their ashes spread all over it? I remember someone in Houston put a restaurant once where a funeral home went out of business: it was always empty and tanked in no time.

To me this isn´t gross, there´s nothing gross about ashes.

It´s creepy. :sad2:

But how do you feel about refillable mugs, pool hopping and psycho stroller moms? :lmao: :lmao: ;)

I kow someone personally who sprinkled some ashes. My first thought was where?? Did you just put soemewhere where it will be swept up??

I would have to think about where I would want to be sprinkled.

I always loved this topic...
my parents always say they want to "visit epcot" one last time
we like to call it the last great recon mission
but its just funny how they aren’t the only ones.....

My mother just passed away and she had told me that she would like some of her ashes spread at the POFQ. My brother and I are going in October and we are considering taking just a small amount of her ashes down with us to scatter discreetly.

People, you're going about this all wrong. When I die, Im donating my Skeleton to MGM or Disney. Real Skeletons are often used in movies. I'll be in the credits and everything, and end up on a MGM ride tour. Why sneak ashes around, when you can walk in the front door? LOL

Ooh, that's also another very interesting option! Hmmm, now I gotta think!

 :thumbsup2 Gotta Love It!

Funny, I had NEVER thought about doing this or thought that anyone else did it either. I'll be stepping a little lighter during our upcoming trip to the World, you know, out of respect....

LOL you won't have to worry about this at all. As mentioned earlier about Disney Cleanliness:

If anyone put ashes on a path you'll be walking on, then the landfill will be the only place to pay any respects... :)

My ashes would be added to the flower designs around the castle at MK. :flower3:

Not necessarily. A good portion will be tracked across the parks, onto the monorail, and back to the carpets at the resorts! (And a few rental cars)

Here's a possibility -- maybe the skywriting Jesus guy could take the ashes up and scatter them? Then you'd have the possibility of hitting all the parks at one!

Ashes don't bother me but I'm sure it's not allowed ;) . I would not mind getting dumped at the Poly beach :lmao: . I mind pool hoppers and parade crashers and line cutters much more.
