As the Ticker Turns~The next chapter of the Resort Changers Saga...*RC trips pg.238

I'm pretty sure they have my name up on a little sticky that says "will ask about every resort." :rotfl: I do keep those ladies busy. I wish they had something like the cruise line where you can put in the interline code. Oh well, I usually get the friendliest CM's. I love the look of CSR, but the rest of the family likes POR. Has anyone tried the food court at CSR, is it any good?

Where do I get the code for the cruise line? Everytime I call they have no interine rates. I assume your talking about DCL.

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to start messing around with the next trip! Is that bad? And the whole Disney depression thing (this is bad), when I was packing...and I was putting our date labeled ziplock bags into the suitcase, I almost cried about the bags labeled 7/25...because that's our last day....
We haven't even gotten there yet, and I'm already crying about leaving!! As many of us RC'ers have found out, Disney will definitely keep A FILE on all your activity. :scared: :rotfl2:
Shameless ticker check!!! 3 more sleeps!!! :cool1:

Packing with labeled bags would make me sad too when seeing that last day.
:(

Once there, I try to have a rule that I never allow myself to think of the end of the trip until the night before the morning we leave. After we get back to the resort that last night, I pack and finish up in the morning.

Tell me about the Ziploc bags, please - sounds like something I'd like! Do you pack each person's clothing for each day in a Ziploc bag? I use a LOT of those for any trip - Disney or not.:thumbsup2 Thanks!

:cheer2: 3 MORE SLEEPS!!!! :cheer2:

Jenny and Heather - we loved POR. it was only crowded when the trundle was out at night. We pushed it back under during the day. The bathroom area was nice and big with plenty of room for 3 of us to get ready at same time. The toilet and shower are separate with a door which I think helps when you have a lot of people sharing one

I really like POR too and would like to stay in one of the new refurbed rooms - never been a fan of the Mansions, but I really like the mural on the headboard and the nice soft green and blue.

So we are currently in st. Louis for dance nationals. Had an easy drive up yesterday and a yummy dinner followed by an adventurous walk back to the hotel! I feel sure we were walking on roads we shouldn't have! Today we are going to explore downtown st Charles and then the arch! Tomorrow - six flags where I will be homesick for WDW. and then lots of dancing all weekend.

Sounds like fun - hope you'll share some pics! ::yes::

Oh, I started planning my 2013 trip. Get this - my first adults only trip to the world! 3 fun couples take on F&W 2013! Suggestions on where to stay with no kids?

If it is a deluxe resort trip, then I would suggest an EPCOT resort too. It is so nice to stroll in and out of International Gateway...and HS is a short walk...and so many nice dining options. Having said that, I am a MK kinda gal and have stayed at the GF, Poly and WL for adult trips! Sorry...no help at all!;)

I have to say I am so grateful for our RC family You guys definitely keep me sane when everything starts to fall apart. It's crazy how close you can feel to someone you've never met. I am eternally thankful to Disney for bringing me to such a great group of people. :grouphug:

:grouphug: Love you too, Dani. So happy Danimal is better!!

[/B]

This sounds amazing! I say stay close to Epcot...we have never but I bet the convenience of it is wonderful! Hope your girls do well at dance...mine are missing dance classes and every morning we have to go down to our basement to have a dance party.:dance3: DH built them a little stage down there...anything for his girls!

So sweet!!!!

I feel the same! I am just a new member of the RC family...and you all have made me feel so welcome...:grouphug:

Jenny, I don't think of you as a new member at all - feels as though you've always been with us!

Good Morning, RCers!

Janet asked me to let everyone know she is up at her mom's cottage at the lake with no internet access unless she goes to a Starbucks etc. She feels bad she is not able to respond to all the nice comments about her recap. She'll be checking in when possible. :)

Janet, have a wonderful few days away...you deserve some R&R more than anyone I know!! Especially after that incredible recap! ::yes::

:wave2:

Greetings from Watertown, NY!! Oh so close to Canada, but not allowed, no passport! Went shopping bright and early at Target and popped in Panera bread, so I can use the free WIFI!! :cool1:

Wow! Great job Janet! :thumbsup2

pas - DSs appointment with the plastic surgeon is tomorrow afternoon. I'm only mildly freaking out. If we don't get a good report our trip will have to be postponed. :scared: But I'm not gonna go there yet. I didn't even price out September and check on changing our flights. OK, I did but so would anyone else. :rotfl:

I do hope the Plastic surgeon visit goes well and that you get great news. And don't even think that the trip might have to be postponed ... only good thoughts here, and we will be thinking and hoping for the best!

:cheer2: Janet :cheer2: I do not know how you manage to keep up with this hoppin' thread and recap perfectly and as creatively as any Disney imagineer!:worship:

Thanks Christine! Actually, really enjoy putting a creative spin on things, just need to find the time and keep up with all our RCers changes ... not an easy task, but Sarah's input was so helpful!

Wonderful recap Janet! :goodvibes I have decided to just do the QSDP and not do any TS meals so I don't have to pay for food OOP. The QSDP is 2 QS credits and 1 Snack credit right? I should be ok with that. I'll carry plenty of money on me just in case I need to buy food.

There might be some ch-ch-changes soon! My mom might be tagging along with me! It depends on if she is going to Europe with my sister. She will know in the next 3 months if she can go or not. It would be lots of fun because ever since I found out about the BoG restaurant, I've been wanting to dine there with her. I am so excited! :goodvibes This means I won't be going to Jellyrolls or having any alcohol though. :sad1:

Hannah, that would be great news if your Mom could join you on the trip! :cool1: Hopefully we will get a chance to meet up with you in January (and your mom if she comes). She can find out we are legit and nice! :goodvibes

Yesssss....my beloved ziploc bags. Yes, I do 1 outfit for each day...makes it so much easier when the girls can just go in and find the outfit for that day, pull out the contents and put it on. Also, I feel like it keeps the clothes away from any creepy crawlies that might be in a room or in luggage next to ours on the plane.... A little psycho I know...but that's how I roll. ::yes::

Continued ....

Happy Thursday Peeps!!
She's 100% mutt. :chewy: (Her coat is closest to an Alsatian / German Shepard, I think, with that soft undercoat... which sheds all in one go! :scared:)

You are Queen Recap!

Absolutely brilliant! :worship::worship: You are a master. :grouphug:

I think I might try your suggestion of either the INS and /or my hubs in the packing cubes. :lmao:

I'm purposely avoiding looking at AKL right now for January. Not sure I can hold out for the rest of the evening though... :confused3

Miss: Your baby is adorable and so loveable! :goodvibes

Thought you might like the packing cubes suggestion.. both of them .. :rotfl2:

Coming your way on Sat 6/21 ... have left to book my return flight ... don't you really have a handering to visit O'Hare? :rotfl2:

Janet you out did yourself with that recap.....Fantastic Job!!!

Sorry this is so quick and short but my stomach is not feelin so great right now for some reason.

Sheila, do hope you are feeling much better today!

Good luck! One is here throwing a tantrum because he is afraid of the dark and won't go to bed and the other one is trying to walk in my (giant) flip flops. :rolleyes2

On a side note I may get my first booking as a travel agent! I have a friend interested in going over Christmas. Talk about commission!

Dani, I love pictures of our babies trying to be grown up looking. So precious. Did you take a pix??

And :yay: for a booking!!! :woohoo:

JANET: amazing recap! One little error...it was BWI Deluxe CL room where it all started for me, Right area....just a hop skip and jump away! :rotfl: ..... I am still steadfast at the POLY! :thumbsup2
I'll be sure to keep swimming and not duck! :rotfl: you're so sweet with the nickname....that's what all my friends call me, so I feel right at home :flower3:

Oh sweet Marie :goodvibes, SO sure I have many more slip ups :upsidedow Thanks for letting me know ... why did I think you were staying at the BC?? Because I wanted it for you? :goodvibes

Good morning RCers. I was pretty far behind this morning.

Janet - that was a marvelous recap! I changed my dates last week but still BC. But I haven't given up hope for a DLR pin code. If that happens - west coast here I come!

Thanks basketlacey :) and knew you were still mulling over DL, hope it all works out for you

The best of luck to your DDs on the dance competition!! :dance3:

Oh, I started planning my 2013 trip. Get this - my first adults only trip to the world! 3 fun couples take on F&W 2013! Suggestions on where to stay with no kids?

Cool!! Like the idea of staying in an Epcot area but have no first hand experience staying at any of them (but currently will in January, of course if nothing changes.. :goodvibes) I'm partial to the MK area myself, no matter what you book it's sure to be fun!! Food, wine and no kids!!

sjs, hope you are feeling better today.

It was a busy day yesterday, so I never looked at 2013 prices. I am trying to figure out January. :surfweb: Time to start a new spreadsheet!

I heard that trick a few yrs ago....it sounds GREAT!, for little ones......don't know how well it would go over with my DS's 16/20!!!! :rotfl:
I also don't think their clothes would fit in ziploc baggies anymore! :lmao:

Janet no pic because it makes my feet look extra big! Her tiny feet in my size 11 shoes. they look like boats!

Christine Lily said to tell nana Chrissy she sends you extra hugs and kisses.

Sarah health is now our #1 priority! No one else is allowed to be sick until August 18.

Jenny don't be silly. Family is family.

Lily clearly takes after me. When I put cream on my face I have to pretend to dab some on her. When I apply my blush I have to run a brush over her cheeks. She is too funny! Down the shore she would take my beach bag and put my phone in it, put it on her shoulder and wave and tell me bye. She's going to give me a run for my money for sure!

One more quote from DH and then I promise no more!!

DH "so we can afford these two trips right??"
me "YES!!"
DH "do we have to sell anything????"
This is exactly the conversations DH & I have!

This makes me very happy to read.
I have decided all will be fine no matter what! Bree had a palpitation episode last night that almost got her to the ER. Luckily my tricks worked, so another follow up to the Pediatric Cardiologist :faint: Poor baby!

Danimal is feeling better and is now swimming and eating ice cream (that I insisted he couldn't have and his grandfather chose to override my decision
I hope the ice cream stayed in
cue the song ... I get by with a little help from my friends...
 Best recap ever!!!!!!!! Enjoy your time with your Mom!!!!!
pas - DSs appointment with the plastic surgeon is tomorrow afternoon. I'm only mildly freaking out. If we don't get a good report our trip will have to be postponed. But I'm not gonna go there yet. I didn't even price out September and check on changing our flights. OK, I did but so would anyone else.
I will work out! Hey the stickers are all nuts again, insert pixie dust here

I orginally wanted WL because of the great decorations over the holidays, but I'm just not sure. I also have 3 kiddos that would adore AKL, I personally would pick the POLY, but it simply isn't budget friendly. We can afford a deluxe, but most of the interline rates are for MK views, and that's just too much. Moderates appeal to me because of their size, and the kids would enjoy the slide in the pool. Would you all reccomend a split stay, and what resort would you suggest?
Welcome!!!!! It'll be busy first part of your trip. So I'd do WL (for the decorations) then over to AoA. Only because I am not a fan of the moderates...for nottoo much more tan a mod...you could probably score AKL.

Thank you so much! I'd never have been able to catch up with you!
We've missed you Christine :grouphug:

Sorry this is so quick and short but my stomach is not feelin so great right now for some reason.
Feel better Sheila
That probably didn't help at all. I am glad to know I'm not the only one driving the Cm's in the interline office nuts.
:rotfl2:

I plan on doing a trip report!
Yay!!!! I can't wait :cool1:

I didn't sound too mean did I? I try to never read his posts but sometimes I just can't help it. His stories just keep changing. Okay that is enough I will say no more!!

On a happier note spoiling grandkids is the best .... I'm now adopted grandma to Jeanette's kiddos and since she and Dani are sisters I get her two little ones to but ..... I share all of them with Christine!
Is it bad that I haven't been on the thread and I know EXACTLY the poster you are referring too :headache:

Dani and I have the best adopted mamas EVER :lovestruc

Candace and Jen you need to follow our family rule .... never leave WDW without another trip planned if not booked!!! It's the law!!! :rotfl2:
Another law!!!! Yes, lets have kook notify our legal dept.

On a side note...did I miss something? Are Jeanette and Dani really sisters? Don't laugh at me! I can hear you!
I would never laugh at you Jen  as far as I am concerned we are sisters through and through :goodvibes

No laughing ... they are sisters in spirit ... just like I'm Jeanette's mama in spirit.
:love2:

I have to say I am so grateful for our RC family You guys definitely keep me sane when everything starts to fall apart. It's crazy how close you can feel to someone you've never met. I am eternally thankful to Disney for bringing me to such a great group of people. :grouphug:
So am I, hope you get your first booking:hug:

I feel the same! I am just a new member of the RC family...and you all have made me feel so welcome...:grouphug:
You are not new...you are an instant addition to our family...FWIW I can't remember not having you as part of the family...you've always been here!

It was a busy day yesterday, so I never looked at 2013 prices. I am trying to figure out January. :surfweb: Time to start a new spreadsheet!
I've been on the WDW website so long I forgot to come on the DIS  I did but some new school backpacks for the girls:rolleyes1 Brave & Cinderella

Dani, I feel the same way about our RC family. Pefectly stated!

And Jenny, do not think of you or anyone else as "new"... people join in and it seems like they have always been with us.

Great minds...as always

I know I've missed a bunch...and I am sorry, back to scheming...ahem planning......:rolleyes1

I am exactly the same when it comes to unwanted creepy crawly hitchhikers! I usually sort my clothes into Ziploc bags - all my tops in one bag, pants in another etc. I even put my suitcase in a giant Ziploc bag once at the resort - nothing touches the floor or bed.:rotfl: If only I could put myself in a Ziploc bag to sleep on the bed!!:rotfl2:

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Happy Thursday, waaay up there! When did Canada begin requiring a passport? Whenever we went we only needed a certified U.S. birth certificate. That's too bad - would be fun to go over the border for the day.:thumbsup2

That Mickey is sooo cute!!!!

Hmm..the RC trip is only 3 days later...:rolleyes1 Just sayin'... ;)

Size 11?! It seems so many women have longer feet these days. I have some friends with incredibly tiny feet - so small that they look like their feet can hardly hold them up! :confused3

Aww...please send Lily lots of hugs and kisses right back from Nana Chrissy. Danimal too, of course. Although sometimes boys that age aren't in the hug stage for a long while.

Ziplock bags for clothes? OMG you guys are organized. I throw everything in the suitcases the night before, and hope for the best.

My dates are Oct 20-30? WL/BC????? I think, but don't hold me to it. Dec 13-19 BWI maybe??? Don't hold me to that one either. My tickers all wrong, but I don't even care anymore.

It honestly seems like FOREVER ago that my ticker was saying 1 week until our trip.....this is the longest week Ever!!! :badpc:

DS is home from the plastic surgeon. Overall, he got a great report. For starters the surgeon is a Disney buff, so that is awesome! :lmao:

He is scheduled for surgery next week to realign the broken cartilage and bone.

I'm still not sure that I am going to consent to the surgery though. The Dr said it is for aesthetics only, but that without it his nose will be very misaligned. The good news is that if he does get the surgery, he only has to wear a brace for a week and will be completely restriction free after that.

Anyone care to weigh in on if you would put your kid under just to fix the appearance of a misaligned nose? I'm feeling very hesitant but I know that is in part due to the fact that my mom died from complications after a successful surgery. It's hard not let that color my decision.

Honestly, you are having to make a decision for him that could affect him for the rest of his life. If his nose ends up "very misaligned", and he starts to have problems with it as he gets older, is that something he will still be able to fix or will it be too late?

I'm not one for major medical interventions, but both of my babies were put under at age 1 to have tubes put in their ears (massive problem with ear infections on both of them, which was affecting their hearing), and both of them did just fine with anesthesia. :thumbsup2

Tough choice, being aesthetic only, but I would still probably get my kids nose fixed.

Thanks for your input MM. He could fix it on his own as an adult, but it would be a major surgery instead of a quick outpatient surgery if we do it now.

My mom also passed away due to an infection after successful dental work. That said I think I would do the surgery.

Where are our resident nurses???? :confused3

Hi I heart,
Glad you were able to get the consult quickly. I understand this is a big decision.
If it's OK for me to weigh in, I absolutely would get the nose fixed now. It will be easier on him at this age. I think he will be glad you chose (if you do) to go ahead and take care of it now, rather than addressing this again when he is in his teens or 20's.
I'm sending you a hug about your mom.
I lost my parents when I was young, and I understand about sad experiences with dear ones and how you have to step back and think a bit.
I hear you saying you want to make a good decision. That includes acknowledging worries, but also considering the positive result for your son.
And, of course, lots of friendly support here whatever you decide. :goodvibes
