DS is home from the plastic surgeon. Overall, he got a great report. For starters the surgeon is a Disney buff, so that is awesome!
He is scheduled for surgery next week to realign the broken cartilage and bone.
I'm still not sure that I am going to consent to the surgery though. The Dr said it is for aesthetics only, but that without it his nose will be very misaligned. The good news is that if he does get the surgery, he only has to wear a brace for a week and will be completely restriction free after that.
Anyone care to weigh in on if you would put your kid under just to fix the appearance of a misaligned nose? I'm feeling very hesitant but I know that is in part due to the fact that my mom died from complications after a successful surgery. It's hard not let that color my decision.
First of all breathe....I would get the surgery for my DS. Best results with a nasal fracture are if the repair is done within 2 weeks of the injury. Plus he could be in for breathing, sinus, sleep issues if it isn't fixed
Now as a mom, I know how scared you are to have your kiddo have surgery. It is a fast surgery, and the anesthesia is very safe and short acting they use for kids. RC powers are strong...he will do great
Almost 3 years ago I had the same surgery, I went back to work the next night. With that fabulous plaster piece on my nose

SO, IMHO let him get the repair! No regrets, and we'll be here to support the scared Mommy...we get it!
Where are our resident nurses????
Sorry I am at work. I had some transports, but I'm here
Hubs is in LA at the moment, almost back home. Eesh, this has been a long 10 days.

I'd been doing a live flight tracker and watching his plane pass close to Hawaii. Then I immediately thought of Aulani.

(Is it lame that I was watching his little plane icon cross the ocean?

)
Oh no. How's she been today?
Bree was fine today, I have to pick up a recorder for her to use (kinda like a Holter monitor) so each episode she has I hold it to her chest and it transmits an EKG to the cardiologist. I want all the tests back so we can put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
And NOT LAME! I would be doing the same thing, crying the whole time, missing my man
Jeanette waiting to hear how Bree is doing. Waiting is not something I do well ....
Did a final height check of DD5.....completely barefoot and hair low and pulled completely back....
42.5 inches!!!!!
Tower of Terror, BTMRR, and Splash Mountain, here she comes!!!!! (she wasn't big enough on her first two trips!!!)
Heck, with shoes on she might make it onto Space Mountain!!!
That's great Candace! Now pass the extra 1/2 inch to NJ so Bree can hit the 40 inch mark

Seriously, that's SO EXCITING!!!!
Ugh just got a call at work that Danimal now has an infection in his eyes. I really think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown before we leave for Disney.
Hang in there sis...this is just a test, it is only a test
Augh!!!! Please don't have a nervous breakdown...think of it this way...they are getting it out of their system now, instead of 4 days before your trip. Hope Danimal is feeling better soon!
SO TRUE!!!!!!
Thanks ladies. I'm just super stressed with everything going on here at once. I got my pay stub and saw I'm not getting paid for the time I took off while everything was going on with Lily. I hate how people can be so insensitive to what others are going through. My boss is a real jerk.
Ugh, sounds like I'm gonna have to bring DH up to the island to kick your boss' ******* uhhhh tires, yeah tires
