Happy Friday RCers!! It so so stinkingly hot here today...trying to stay cool!! We took the DD's to the Disney Store today so DD8 could use up some birthday gift certificates that have been burning a hole in her pocket. I love going there anytime!!

Of course she wanted to add to her stuffy collection, she picked out Lady, and a giant Dumbo. Personally I would have gone for the lovely frilly Brave nightie! We are seeing it tomorrow for her b-day party (yes it is a little late!)

MM Can't believe your trip is sooo close!! Are you going to do a trip report??

PasThere you go putting the Poly in my head for 2013!!! Sadly, we will have to go a little more economical next year!

Ok, we're all fixed. Still don't know what happened, but whatever. Problems are bound to happen more often to RC'ers.

It's a sign that I felt sick that I may have lost my reservations. I'm sticking with the Lodge split!

Hey Kook do you know if they have connecting rooms with bunk beds at WL CL?

padawans love the pics! RPC sounds perfect for your 20th next year!!!

Do you book room only's. I have to book my r/o's as packages with all the penalty bells and whistles. I have never had an auto cancel that I have paid on. I have learned to put 7 day holds on my reservation before paying my deposit. I have a lot auto cancels due to changing my mind and not paying the deposit.

PADAWANS thanks for the tip about not staying on the ship at Nassau! I think you have been channeling me because I was thinking about the exact thing lately. A lot of the threads say it is better not to get off the ship. For us though, I think it might be nice to at least get off for half the day. Like the idea of that close beach though, or was looking at the Nassau Harbour tour?

A lot of people say the carribbean town are dumps, and people are always trying to sell you something. I spent a lot of time in Mexico and South America as a kid so that kind of stuff doesn't bother me. I can see why it might make some people nervous. Honestly I feel safer there than most cities in America.

If you take the ferry over to Atlantis you will get to see some of the movie stars homes like Nicolas Cage and 3 or 4 others. There are a lot of wealthy people on the Atlantis side of the island. There is also a shopping center near atlantis that is very americanized with American restaurants like Johnny Rockets. It's very close to the Port. 2-3 hours is about all you need. You can also get cell service from the teminal at Nassau. This is the only time on the cruise you will be able to check your email. I don't know anything about the other excursions. I prefer to find a beach and enjoy the nice warm water.

Yes same here. I really want to relax more than anything else, but it would be nice to see some of the port. Lately too, there is talk of a lot of people skipping Pirate night due to it being too rowdy, too crowded etc. What's your take on that??

Happy Friday my friends! I was supposed to go and get my hair colored/highlighted today, but I ended up canceling due to the few things I've put on my cc the last couple days.....As I told y'all earlier in the week, I added on a Cabana rental for our Discovery Cove day, and that was a $250 immediate payment needed charge. Then the weather man had to go and ruin my weekend by mentioning the PLUS 30 deg Celcius weather that's headed our way this week! I couldn't bare the thought of sweltering and melting! So off to Costco to purchase one of the last 3 air conditioners in stock! Another $399.......so with those purchases made, I decided to live with my hair color as it is and put that $100+ $$ towards my CC

It's gearing up to be a hot one today.....and my lovely family requested CHILI for dinner tonight!!! I personally am not a huge chili fan, so I'll be thinking of what else to make myself, but chili is in the crockpot simmering away for them!

Padawans, Thank you for sharing your pics! You have a beautiful family and it is so nice to put a pic to a name! You all look so lovely!

PAS: are you still planning on being at WDW Sept 28 time for HRH's Bday? Last I remembered, I thought the trip was off, but it would be lovely if it was back on and might have a chance to meet you after all!

If not, I am determined to meet as Many of you lovely ladies one day in the future that I can!!! I Still haven't given up on that RCer Girls DL trip thought! Hope that works out one day!

I am signing off for now, but spending much of my day off dreaming of our happy place, surfing the DIS, and dreaming of my first POLY stay!!!! I'm so excited and can't wait! I think I picked the perfect resort for us for our trip

I always book RO. I've learned the hard way that they will auto cancel in about 24 hours if you make any change that would increase the 1 night deposit without paying more. Sounds smart to use the holds since you have to do packages. Good thinking!

I think these may have canceled because I had them split my funds from Poly ressie to put on the 2 new ones and just paid the additional. I think that since it can take 24 hours to apply the funds that they appeared as unpaid.

Kook and MM What did you request at the Wl. Can you get a lake view staying CL.

There are three possible CL views for a standard room:

~INNER or WL Courtyard View is of the WL, pool, geyser and Bay Lake. With the South Wing rooms you'd also have a partial view of Wishes. If this is the view you want, make sure you add "INNER" or "WL" to your request.

~Woods View rooms face toward the woods with the CR and MK beyond. Some of these rooms have a partial Wishes view and a view of the Otter Pond below.

~OUTER or VWL Courtyard View is a view of VWL/pool/courtyard area.

The New Jersey housewives are my favorite. They eat and drink wine all day long. What a life.

Is anyone married anymore on the OC housewives show? They might need to rename the show

So I'm picturing this tired, sweaty, hot crew unloading your ice box and finally getting the behemoth into the front door, past the Rottweiler and pitt bull, over the kid splayed on the floor and then it hits them! BACON!

"Why, Ma'am, what ever is that fine smell?" "Sure could use a nice bacon sammich right about now."

Miss Packing Cube (sheepishly): "Well, you see my husband is out of town, on another continent in fact, and I get ever so lonely and bacon is all I have to comfort me."

That's just how I felt about those places. We always preferred staying on the ship; it's like having the whole ship to yourself when they're docked. I wish they had cruises that were just stops at multiple private islands - that would be ideal to me!

Thank you KOOK, you re-enforced what I thought. I have been wanting to try CL at the WL, January seems like the perfect time. I also tend to spend a lot of time relaxing at the resort, and I can't think of a better place! I think there will probably be a BB in the room in Sept. Last year in Sept, we booked our January Jaunt to WDW this year with a BB. Of course there is always an AP, but that won't be out for quite a while.

For those of you in the hot, hot, hot eastern half of the country especially, NC and Virginia stay cool! We have been hot, but only in the 90s, but tomorrow is going to be a scorcher here. Enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk...that would go with KOOK's bacon!

Well, I'm back at Poly TPV CL with a very large credit that I can use for O'hana, my cabana and a Lapu Lapu or 20 The Lodge Split will have to wait until DD is 3.

pas I should have listened to you earlier and I could have saved myself from the CRO drama this morning.

I think that's a good choice. Enjoy the Poly while you still can. The day will come when you have to book two rooms. How many days is this trip? Gosh it seems like you just got back. I know some of the RC'rs take frequent short trips and some of us like Kook, MM and I take the longer slightly less frequent trips.

With all this chat here, I'm definitely going to splurge and have bacon for brekkie tomorrow. I have some left as I didn't have to share! Icebox installed with no gas leaks, sewer main breaks, flying manhole covers, flash floods, banana pudding milkshake explosions or various other calamities I had on my "Good Day, Bad Day" checklist. I'm going to chalk today up to a victory.

Missoutandabout - No BLT's tonight. I thought I had real bacon, but I only had the microwave limp stuff that the kids like. Ick. Toaster bacon would have probably been better!

padawans - we are doing a week in August. That's what we normally do. Our longest ever was the last trip at 9 nights. We do prefer to go on shorter trips more often. I do think I made the right choice with the Poly. AKL isn't going anywhere!

Good Morning RC'ers!!!!

All of your bacon talk is making my tummy rumble. I am STARVING!!! (despite having a slice of pizza at 1:30 am)

I am waiting for DH to get out of the shower so we can check out of this hotel and get home!!!!

The wedding went off without a hitch, DD5 actually made it down the aisle...I swear that a pretty dress, shoes, makeup and hair bling gives you super powers!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!! When I get home I need to wash all of the clothes accumulated this week between our trip to MD and then this wedding, because I need to pack for Disney THIS WEEKEND!!!

We have 8 days to go and I will be back at work on Monday, so no time to pack, etc....wooooohoooooo!!!!!

We went and had a nice visit to the Gilmore Car Museum today. It was hot, so we stopped into the little diner they have there for frozen custard. Yum!!
