OMG!!!!! That is an AMAZING deal!!! Oh boy, I wouldn't want to be you! Decisions, decisions?? Is that a TA discount?

WOW. Do you have your air already or could you add a day or two?

60%!!! What the heck is going on??? Was this a TA offer or a private pin code?

I'd stay put at the Poly too - like you said, everything is all planned now...you'll no be sorry at all!

Exciting though!! ::yes::

Yes it's a TA offer. It's valid until the end of September. I would love to add a night or two on but we booked our airfare already. Ughhh. Maybe I can scheme a quick getaway for Danimal and I in September? It could be perfect. We could do MNNSHP and check out AoA. Hmmmmm.

:thumbsup2 That sounds like it would be a GREAT plan, DANI! I say SEPT 30 MNSSHP and a visit with me, and PAS, and any other of our little group who will be there .....I believe Amandaw, and I thought Janet too, but she may have changed.....I get lost with everyone's dates! :rotfl:

Have you seen the photos of the newly rehabbed WL rooms? Maybe that and the savings would sway you? What is the family leaning toward? It does tend to get very crowded at B&C and HH since they share guests from two resorts and you can't make an ADR there. B&C has a very small dining area.

I don't recommend a split for you. Of course, my vote is for WL!

~It's less expensive.

~The rooms are being rehabbed right now so you'd have the possibility of a new room.

~The QS/TSs are generally less crowded than YC/BC

~You can take a boat or a bus directly to the MK. Getting to the MK from the Epcot resorts is rather time consuming.

~You can take the boat to the CR and then monorail to the other MK resorts.

~FW is right next door which is like a whole other vacation.

~I prefer even the least expensive WL room view over the least expensive YC view. You can even see Wishes from some upper Standard View WL rooms.[/QUOTE]

I was totally ready to switch to YC until I read this!!!!! haha:hyper: I never really thought about the crowds at the pool/food!! We are going the week of Aug 27-Sept 2 before LAbor day and when school starts. Do you really think it will be that crowded? Crowd levels are about a 3 during the week and a 4 on the weekends. I do agree with you on the views being better at WL. The last time we stayed at YC we saw bushes and a parking lot and at WL we were CL and looked at the smoke house/woods/monorail/wishes!! I don;t know if we could top that at WL again! Even if we do get a refurbished room, the rooms at the YC are still bigger and have a fan (i can't remember if WL has a fan) a balcony, I think I may be leaning towards YC...for today!! Thanks!!pixiedust:

Pretty sure she saw them...she posted them and runs the WL thread! :goodvibes
She is a WL expert. :worship: I vote WL CL all the way!!!

Okay I need some advice here RCers. Here's the story so far:

5/2 - booked POR for 9 nights. 5 people (DH, me, MIL, DS 7 & DD 4 at time of travel) love the refurb rooms and the extra murphy bed. Looking forward to the grounds, large pool and boat to DTD

5/5 - start to read some reviews and panic thinking that we're going to have a hard time fitting us all in with room for luggage and a folded double stroller

5/8 - call and change res to 3 nights at POR then switch to 6 nights at AoA family suite. Happy with change because it will mean more room to stretch out later (and longer) but still get to enjoy the extra stuff at POR first.

5/8 (evening) - tell DH about switch (don't tell him it's an extra $1800 b/c of our DDP, his mom is paying for the trip anyway so its none of his business). He expresses concern about switching and kids reaction (going to leave it a surprise for them) and says "what if we love the first place and hate the second one what then?"

5/9 (today) - start reading about split stays and hearing that you should never start higher and go down in category. now I'm also wondering with free dining coming will I be able to use it or will it not apply to AoA.

Other info - I got a pin for 10% off room only that is applied to the POR portion but is not available for the AoA portion

Help. Do I change again when free dining is announced? Am I crazy to downgrade resorts mid-way through the trip? :confused3

Tulles
Have you seen the videos/photos of AoA?? They are amazing. I can;t imagine your family, especially your kids, thinking they are 'downgrading'. You will definaltely love the extra space. The food choices at AoA look better than POR. I have stayed at POR and it was a nice place but I am usually partial to Pop or Movies. Even thought they are values vs Mods, the values are more fun for my family. AoA will fell like you are in the heart of DIsney, I even read that when you go under water in the pool, you can hear Dori and Nemo talking to you!! I personally would love to spend all nights at AoA with the exception that it may be crowded (you didn't say when you were going). I would stick with what you got or stay all at AOA- the space will be worth it!! Have a great trip!

DTD is going to be after our discovery cove day...but knowing my BFF and how she likes to shop....that could be a viable option depending on my tootsies and my body, the volcano pool might be it for us girls! oh, and a fruity adult concoction
Sounds great to me!!!!

Yay for A DH trip!!! What a crummy Poly discount. But YC is all good!
DH gave YC a thumbs down :confused3 Said the lounge had nothing for him, we don't need CL, we won't be in the room that much, and I spent too much money...so I called last night, changed to CBR...

THEN DH reminded me I don't like CBR, I knew that, but guaranteed King bed....he said we slept in separate beds in Poly....(we did) and what about Pop...so I said discount only 5%..blah blah blah....BUT we are now at Pop :) And I am paid in full....got a credit which te CM transferred to my HRH Bday trip.....WHICH...

HRH said yesterday she no longer wants GF, she wants Poly, no BC...so I switched, and she had a meltdown today refusing to tell me where she wants to stay...so I kept BC...saved over $1000 over RPC....Poly CL isn't too much more...but I have to wait for her to be in a better mood :faint:

AND I got the same CM today for both calls, she was cracking up

:yay: for a couples trip!!! Now DH feels special too!

Mom is hanging in there ..thanks for asking  10 hours!! :scared1: sounds brutual .. but Disney is around the corner!!

NO Way!! It takes me 2 hours just to get TSM in twice!! :) And then there's Beauty and the Beast show :thumbsup2, the Little Mermaid, [if I'm brave, RR), Indiana Jones, the great movie ride .... :) OH, and the shops!!!
We don't do the shows...no one will sit through them..not even DH. He is S excited for our trip. We will do slushies in WS...NO WHEELCHAIR :hyper:

So glad Mom is feeling better!

FYI, showed the kiddos pics of the new rooms at WL and the "snack room"... Totally won them over...
:cool1:

Ughhh I just got an email for 60% off AoA. That makes it less than $100 a night. I totally would love to stay there for a night or 2!!! However my whole trip is already planned and switching 2 nights there would be too much of a hassle. Why did they have to send it so late?!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Thank you!!! So glad DH went along with it, but I am drinking a couple glasses of wine right now, because I'm sure I'm gonna "pay" for it. :rotfl:
;) What do you mean??? My WHOLE August trip is to pay for my Sept trip ::yes::

Sept 28-Oct 1st :hyper:

We went same time last year. NO CROWDS!!!!!! But it was during Hurricane Irene so I think lots of peeps cancelled....

All this talk about WL CL had me over on the Disney site priceing it out for my next trip. Also everyone keeps saying WL is the best place to stay at Christmastime. I was surprised to see that the Total cost was only $17 more than what I am paying for the WV room at BWI. I am going to run it by Bob again. :confused3

Jeanette what about CSR for your trip with DH? You can book a king room there and the rooms have more of a deluxe feel.

I brought that up...showed him pics of the pool...he wants a Pop waffle ;) He loves the values that man o' mine....He said he's happy as long as we are together. CBR was the only mod with 25% off. I do like that we are at a smaller resort though :thumbsup2

Ooooo, Jeanette :goodvibes when HRH is in a better mood, hopefully she will pick POLY CL! :cool1: we could be lounge mates for the few days you are there! :cool1: only I'd be with HRH on that choice and say NO CHANGES allowed after you made the decision! ;) I remember on my son and me trip Feb 2011, I changed and waffled so much, my son finally didn't want to talk about it anymore! :worried: he was so tired of my indecisiveness that he just clammed up! I learned my lesson and didn't overly talk about my changes this time....actually I didn't do too badly in finding the right resort for this trip, it only took 3 resorts.....POFQ to BWI to POLY! I am FINALLY so happy we will be staying at the POLY  as are the boys :) don't mess with perfection, I keep telling myself :cloud9:

I hope so too Marie. I think she would enjoy the lounge there much more! And the castle.....plus she can easily visit GF...even though she is upset:worried:, she said she thought the construction would be done

Men and their Disney food. DH loved the BW Bakery and eating BW Pizza near the water. :rotfl2:

I do not blame HRH in regards to the GF construction. I have always planned on staying GF if I went during Christmastime but not with the Construction
