Grumpy Grandma, I think the DL Divas trip sounds amazing. When is it? Do you know anyone going? You all having a love of Disney in common, so there will be lots to talk about! I would consider the balcony. At least as I have gotten older I appreciate a balcony with a view more and more. If you can sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks, I would consider it!

Tonight another classic Disney ride closes, Snow White's Scary Adventure. I know there will be a new SW ride in the new Fantasyland area, but it is always sad to see a classic go. When I was there in April I took a picture of Dopey waving goodbye...a little blurry, the ride started moving, but the sentiment is there!

Step, just not the same. :upsidedow We are there same time again this year, and were quite firm at YC and recently changed to Poly, sooooo :rolleyes1

I just tried to make a ticker, and Distickers worked for me and my browser. I just updated to Firefox 12 for Mac... wish I could help more. I did have strange problems creating tickers with two other countdown makers a few months ago, but now they all work for me. Maybe it is a browser or update issue for you?
________:hippie:

Hi Magic!

You were soooo right. I tried changing my ticker using Explorer instead of Firefox and it worked! I need to update Firefox. Thanks!

I think the trip will be fun. I don't know anyone in the group. My daughter will be there for 2 of the days at the end but the first couple I'll be on my own. They've started to plan the meals. Looks like they plan one group meal a day and there is a choice of TS or CS. The first night there is a big meet and greet party. There are also group photos. Of course everyone has the option of attending as many meals/activities as she wants. As of this morning I think the group has 13 rooms booked HOJO. The room I currently have booked does a balcony it's just not a view of Disney. It would be nice to see the fireworks from the room .... :confused3

Step, just not the same. :upsidedow We are there same time again this year, and were quite firm at YC and recently changed to Poly, sooooo :rolleyes1

I just realized that we ARE there the same time and we are having the same dilemma. YC or Poly. I JUST switched from Poly to YC BUT I'm not sure.....My DS wants CR but there are no rooms, we LOVE the Epcot area BUT we did stay at YC last year. I would love the Poly but I am still nervous about the pool. I would be very, very angry if the pool was crowded with non-guests and I couldn't find a chair....:scared1: I made several MK area ADR's just in case. :goodvibes

So we are 2 days out and I still don't know what we are doing on our first full day? :confused3

I can't decide if we should go to AK which we have skipped the last 3 times, hit DHS for our first SWW or maybe even do nothing except sleep in and hit SAB??? I have been so obsessed with resort planning that I didn't make any real touring plans! :scared1:

Does anyone ever totally wing it and still have a great time? This is new territory for me!

Yes we always wing it. I do make dining reservations every night because I like to eat, but other than that I make no plans. We usually decide the night before where were going the next day. The only park we have skipped on a trip is MK. It's our least favorite.

Hstrickland, Amanda,Jenny, Dani Anybody else cruising in the next year that I've missed? I just booked the Dream 10/21 2012. I can't decide if I want to do the Dream/F&W or the Fantasy and then do WDW in May. Option 2 would be cheaper, and cheaper might win out. If we dont sail on the Fantasy this October I'm looking at 5/4/2013 or 10/19/2013. The one thing you can be certain of is........I will change my mind 1200 times before the Aug 6 payoff date.

MagicI'm glad you had a nice trip.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

I've never gone on a Diva trip before .... actually Christine suggested it to me. My daughter can only be there a couple of the nights so I'll be meeting and spending the first two days with the Divas alone .... I'm a little shy in large groups so that should be interesting but I've been looking for people to go to DL with so I'm excited to try this. They really seem like a friendly, fun group of ladies. Most of the ladies are staying at HOJO with a Retro Rate for ap holders. If this trip is as much fun as I hope it will be it'll be a yearly event for me so I would LOVE to meet you there!!! And of course any other RC ladies! :thumbsup2

Hi Linda :) I'm sure I'll meet you there one day!! :goodvibes and I'll be sure To make it during DIVA week.....my birthday is Jan 29, so that would be a good gift to myself :) I just have to give it a Yr or two break before I approach DH again to go :rotfl:

I'm anxiously awaiting DH to get home from work so I can go pick up my new WEBER BBQ :cool1:

As some may know, I have been wanting a BBQ for 6 yrs....we finally got a deck built last Sept, and DH said I could get our BBQ when the deck was done....that time has come! So, on Mothers Day, DH took me to home depot and bought me a BBQ....instead of getting the weber I wanted so badly, I thought oh, I'll save $200 and get the broil mate.

Fast forward two weeks.....the burners don't ignite, the rotisserie burner stopped lighting, inconsistent heat.....I should have known to follow my gut instinct instead of cutting corners and compromising to save a few bucks.
Luckily, the guy who sold me the BBQ felt very badly about talking me into the cheaper broil mate....he allowed me to return and exchange for the weber I originally wanted ..... He also took an additional $50 off for me :cool1:

So, tonight we go pick it up! I'm so excited....everything I read about weber is positive , I think even though I had to pay $200 more, I think over the years it will pay itself over through quality! :thumbsup2 sometimes it pays to go with quality over cheapest....,this was one of those times :goodvibes

Well, we are 26 days out from our trip - and yep, STILL don't know where to stay!

Have Pop for first 6 nights... AoA 1 night.... YC 1 night... followed by last night Movies (kids need it, sentimental to them!)

and yes, since we NEVER can decide where to stay we are bigtime split-stayers!
So looking at 4 resorts this trip (which is nothing for us, lol - last summer was 6)

But AoA kids really want. Not sure I can justify the price - heck, it's more than YC is costing us!
We are excited to try it, though, and really do need zero entry pool for my son so that is a huge plus. Figured it's new, we are there, do it and try it and get it out of our system (versus waiting till November trip and one night Little Mermaid doing)
But it's the cost - and then we will be at Pop for 6 nights... why not just VISIT AoA? And now heard bridge open, makes it even easier for us to hop over and check the place out.

So can't decide.. suck it up and just do AoA... or stay at Pop one extra night (I think not, that would be 7 nights and wow, 6 is a long stay for us in one place!).... or switch over to Sports for one night.... or switch over to POFQ one night. Sports cheapest option - POFQ, two of us want to do it, and we're due to stay there, been a while.

I understand completely. I make changes up until the day we leave, and I never know when were leaving until we actually leave. It's very confusing I know. I wish I could make plans and stick to it, but it's never going to happen. I don't even know my income week to week so planning is impossible. I do like your multi-resort idea. I would pick 3 resorts and do 3 at each or 4 resorts 2 at each. I don't know. Its all good.

We have never had a problem getting chairs at Poly. The biggest problem with the Poly pool is lack of shade. If you like the sun you should be fine. I have always had more luck at Yc or BW getting a shady spot.

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Did I mention, We are going to Disney NEXT month!!!!

(yeah. I can officially say that now) :rotfl:

Good Morning to all my RC Friends!

Wishing I was at WDW drinking my coffee this morning! :coffee:

DisneyOct2010035.jpg

Mousemommy....:dance3: :woohoo: for you!!!! Aren't you super excited!?? What about the family??? Excited as you?? I have 19 days until AKL CL...23 days until the Dream! My ticker says 20 days until AKL, but I added a day a few weeks ago when I found out that I could get the same discount:yay:

Padawans...If you do the Dream, is it the 3, 4, or 5 night? Then, you will go to WDW? When I get back from our trip, I hope to do a TR if time permits. Between my dad and I, we will have TONS of pictures!

The 4 day. I'm still not sure if it will be this Fall or next Spring. We did it last year, and loved it so much we think it's worth doing again. Of course we will go to WDW.

We do! I always make a plan, then mess it up the first day!! Just do whatever!! If the weather is good---I would hit SAB, then go from there!!

Yes we always wing it. I do make dining reservations every night because I like to eat, but other than that I make no plans. We usually decide the night before where were going the next day. The only park we have skipped on a trip is MK. It's our least favorite.

Thanks ladies! I feel pretty good about winging it now! It's not like we won't be back if we miss something! :goodvibes

I'll be there at the same time too! Hoping for Poly CL! Love the Poly!

Tomorrow is the day! Hoping to check in while I'm there, but if not see you when I get back.:banana::banana:

Heather: Beautiful picture! So nice to see the return of your pictures to this thread.

Booked the Pirates League for the girls!!!! pirate:pirate:

They are soooo excited!! They've done the BBB twice now and wanted nothing to do with it this trip, but pirates!?!?!? Bring it on, ARRRGGGH!!! :lmao:
