Speaking of family .... for all of you who were so supportive of my mother/daughter relationship .... I had lunch with my two granddaughters yesterday and that all went well. Even talked about getting together again. So in the end this might be for the best. My daughter and I don't have to deal with the drama and stress that we seem to bring on for each other and I still get to see my grandkids. I'm at least sure that 3 of the 5 want to see DH and myself. So all is GOOD!!!

PasThat time change would kill me. I'm just now back to normal. My dh may get transferred in the next 2 years. Miami and Mco are places he could go. I have had so many travel nurses tell me not to go to Florida. The pay is much lower than Arizona and the working conditions worse. I can't imagine working conditions being worse then here. We did actually look at houses one day on our trip. The property taxes were a shocker. Despite all that I would still love to live there. I just love Florida. So much fun stuff to do. 2 more days. Have a great trip you deserve it. It seems like you work a lot. Will you be able to relax a little on the hours now that this trip is done?

Thanks I hear the worst things about Vegas, AZ and NYC (I can say the city is BAD) but the pay in Fla is horrendous, but cost of houses etc..better. The one thing I can say about NJ..great schools. Yes I will relax with my hours a bit. Now that summer is here. I want to play with my kids! And I am getting back almost $2000 from changing from Poly CL to Pop, so I am paying my bills early so no stress when I get home I just want it to be Wednesday already....and 80 days til my trip just DH and I

Yes AZ can be bad, but pay is good, and cost of living super duper low. It's getting better now that we no longer have the huge nursing shortage. Ratios are generally 4:1 or 5:1 on the floors. Florida would be a paycut plus cost of living increase for us. Sadly, I don't think I will ever live there.

This is priceless! pas just posted a wonderful picture from their car last year pulling into the GF. If she wasn't arriving at her beloved GF she probably would have been on the phone then! pas, you know we love you and I for one admire you going for what you want!

Grumpy Grandma, so excited for you that you got to spend time with your DGD yesterday! It sounds like you and your DD are on your way to working out a situation that allows you to see you DGDs and don't have stress between the two of you.

Deena, sooo exciting! If you move to the WDW area you have to promise to visit everyone when they come to WDW How far do you live Magic? You could come also!!! How fun would that be!

I'm surprised .... I would have thought that the cost of living would be lower in FL than AZ. I think almost anywhere would be less as far as cost of living goes than CA!!! Of course all my income is retirement so I guess I would be better off somewhere else!

Those ratios are much better than NJ..taxes, cost of living high...my pay is great though. I figure when DH retires I could always travel he really wants to move to Florida...condo with a garage

Pas I rarely take care of more than 4 patients. ED is ok too. This is still in large part a retirement/snowbird destination so are population is older and acuity pretty high. I think hospitals finally figured out if they improved the staffing ratios they could stop using travelers and registry. There was a time when hospitals were about 30% travelers. The pay increased dramatically about 7 years ago due to the shortage, but now wages are stagnent.

Your at Pop now? What happened to Poly? Your a much better person than me. I always end up spending more money at the last minute. I'm still not convinced your done. I can see you calling on the drive down there.

GGScottsdale is expensive. There are a lot of nice areas outside of Scottsdale that are very reasonable. I don't think anyplace is more expensive than California. I really don't know how people make it there.

Janet: You are a girl after my own heart I need my Diet Coke too! It's my only vice.....DH is always trying to get me to give it up, but it's hard! I figure, I don't drink to excess, smoke or do anything else...so if my DC habit is all I have, I'm not doing too badly!!! However, I am always trying to cut it down some, because I DO know those chemicals and aspartame can't be overly good for me! So yes, I DO try.....but it is not easy!

PAS: Congrats on saving 2k!!!!! that's a lot of money, and nothing to sneeze at as you stated, you'll also be there again shortly.....so more money for SEPT sounds great! I can't say I am all for GF, I'd love to have my lounge buddies but......if it makes HRH happiest, then you know best! and you'll still be on the monorail loop so a get-together for a fruity concoction or visit before our MNSSHP on the 30th shouldn't be too hard!

I have decided not to waste a days admission on MNSSHP day, as we will have our cabana from 10-2. Then MNSSHP ticket holders can get into MK at 4, it doesn't make sense to use a days admission on an hour or so of park time. This way, we can hit a park on arrival day even if it is for a few hours. I am thinking.....we arrive at MCO on the 28th at 1:09 pm......check into ME and get to the POLY by 2:30, we can get our room and head to MK until 7 ( MNSSHP night so park closes early) then hop the monorail for our dinner at Cali Grill at 7:45. I wanted to be able to change, but we may not have time, so I think we may have to either leave the boys and meet them at the Contemporary after closing of MK so we can freshen up and put on a dress for dinner......OR put on our dress THEN hit MK till close! I guess we will see how the day goes
OR.....we can forget about a park, and just do Sea Raycers or mini golf ......that first day is kind of up in the air!

Marie I agree about using a park day for an hour of park time. Besides by the time you get showered and dressed it will be almost 4 anyway.
