Ok...newbie here so please forgive my naïveté ;).

You can change your reservation? Is there a fee?
Also, if we got ours booked in time for free dining could we also use any pins or %off discounts in addition?

We're a fam of 5 (kids 14, 4, 3) and booked at POR but hubby REALLY wants a sep sleeping area for the kids so that we can stay up later and have "us" time.

I just was trying to find the most frugal vacation for 5 and POR allowed us the Regular Dining Plan instead of counter service only.

Help! So unsure!

The last thing I wanted to do at age 22 was have a kid. It's ok not to want to have kids at age 22.:) Enjoy your youth.:thumbsup2 When your ready you'll know. I wasn't ready until my 30's. Kids are wonderful and so worth all the labor pain.:goodvibes

I don't like kids. They annoy me so much, which is odd I guess because I love WDW, but I guess I'm so immersed in Disney that I don't focus on other people. :lmao: I'm also not really good with them. I have the feeling I won't ever want kids or ever be ready. :sad2: Which I'm perfectly ok with. :rotfl: I can't say the same thing for DBF though.

There is no fee when changing your reservation unless you booked a pacakge and it's after the 45 day mark.

Regarding discounts, you cannot stack discounts. You can either do free dining or use a percent off pin.

I won't be able to help you on the resorts, but I know the rest of the RCers can help with that! :)

Thank you for the FD/crowd analysis and for not including VA in your list of WDW crowd-making states:goodvibes
Kook, it was either the hair gel & gold chains on the men... or the license plates on the cars in the parking lots... that told me where the majority of DIS-ers resided. I can't remember which. ;)

So quick question for my friends over here at RC. Right now the 6 of us are booked at BWI in a Deluxe Club level room. I keep wondering if I should switch to AOA? Thanks!
We absolutely love BWI and all that it offers. Being that you are not used to Values, I may stay put. As mentioned the CL lounge will help extend your seating for snacking etc. But, if you are open to change then the AoA suite will surely be roomier. And looks rockin' cool, too. I am no help at all. :lmao:

I think tomorrow is going to be the BEST day so far....meeting one of my VERY favorite members of our RC family.:rolleyes1
And so it was!!!! Yay for MEETS with my favorite PEEPS! :dance3:

When we were walking around Pop DH mentioned it would be nice to check AKL out again together.
How positively romantic! Happy Bday to DH! pirate:

On my way back to work, spoke with Christine and Magic!! Got 2 for the price of 1! They are having lunch in St. Pete's!!
It was sooo nice to make it a 3-way today! Hey, speaking of 3-ways: WDWKOOK and Janet -- Sunday Aug 19 midday????

Dates and resorts are all officially changed:
8/18-20: AoA CARS. This will be our first Value.
8/20-24: YC/CL/LV. This will DH's first time at the YC and our first LV there.
8/24 - 9/1: WL/CL. Where else!!
I admit I am shocked by the AoA pick! :scared: Such varied resorts will make for a fun trip. Happy for you that all were available as you wished. :wizard:

All this talk of pregnancies and births reiterates a huge reason why I do not want kids.
Hey Hannah! How's Macy's? I am kidless and old (well, old to you ;) anyway) and I say err on the side of “kid” when you get older... like 10 years or so down the road. If in doubt, go for it anyway and figure it out along the way! If you get too old like me to start, and then something goes south, you may not get another chance. :hourglass

You sound like me at age 22. I'm so not a kid person. I think I shocked my friends and family when I had kids. I love my kids, and they're the best descision I ever made. It's amazing how different you feel when you give birth to them. You got lot's of time don't worry about it.

Macy's is fine so far. Been slow, but now that school is out, it should be picking up. I would love to wait 10 years, but DBF is almost 30 and isn't getting any younger. That is, if we get married. We've been together for almost 3 years now. It feels like we've been together way longer than that. It feels like forever. :rotfl: You know you have a keeper when your conservative parents ask why he didn't just sleep over when he would have to be back at my place early in the morning to go to the flea market. :lmao:

I'm definitely not too worried about it, but DBF is almost 30 and he's the reason why I feel like I have to make a decision a lot sooner rather than later because I know he really wants kids and he isn't getting any younger. Of course this is if we get married. I remember during the first year or so of dating he said he wanted kids before 30, which isn't the case anymore. Imagine how I felt when he said that. He definitely wasn't happy when I told him that I was set on not having kids though I've kind of grown to liking the idea of having kids since then, but I'm definitely not sure. I would hate to break his heart if we get married and 10 years from now we still don't have kids because I'm still set on not wanting them.

I should probably worry about this more if/when we get engaged. :rotfl2:

Robinkeith 1 HI THERE!!! and :welcome:

You most certainly can change your resort reservations as many times as you would like until you are 45 days away from your trip if you booked a package deal. If you booked under free dining (like I have) you may continue to switch around your reservations and you will not loose your discount. iF A better deal comes out, you cans apply the new deal but you cannot use 2 deals on one reservation.

A 1 bedroom at Kidani or Bay Lake towers will give you a queen sleeper and an sleeper chair in the living room and a queen bed in the separate bed room. We enjoyed staying at Kidani a few years back. The Fort Wilderness cabins are also an option because they have a bedroom with bunk beds and a queen bed and they have a murphy bed in the front room. You would still get the regular dining plan at either.

Another option would be the Art of Animation suites. You can upgrade to the regular dining plan if you don't want the quick service that goes along with a value.

Either way, welcome and enjoy changing. We can all help with whatever questions you may have about the various resorts as we research, switch, research some more and switch again.....It's what we do over here on the RC thread....:goodvibes

Kook.....

:worship: The Queen of Club Level goes Value :worship:

I want pictures....lots, and lots of pictures!!!!

Seriously...congrats on your new changes! 3 great resorts:thumbsup2
:rotfl2:
You crack my crown, Heather. Who's the one who stayed Poly/CL and is staying AKL/CL? I've only stayed peasant level at those resorts:rolleyes:

Yes, many photos and comments and observations will follow my stay.
:wave2: Sneaking in over here to post, so. can't. wait. for. Kook's AoA review! :thumbsup2
No need to sneak or lurk around here - we're a friendly bunch - welcome back!

BTW, how is your DH doing? I remember that scare he gave us all (was it last year or the year prior?) Is he OK?

Just wanted to share....tomorrow I am booking that cruise baby!!! Oh yeah!! Can I get a whoop whoop? :woohoo:

Ok, so yes it's only a 3 day Bahamas, and yes it's not until Dec 2013... But it's all good!

We will be adding a 4 or 5 night stay at WDW....so to be continued !

I am a happy girl! :hippie:
Is it booked yet? Have fun planning!!!

Kook I like your choices, and I love long vacations. :thumbsup2 I think you will like the Yc cl. The customer service is very good. A little too good for my taste. I don't really like being waited on hand and foot. I'm not used to that. It makes me a little uncomfortable. I really don't want my kids to get used to that. They're too spoiled already. I preffered the Poly and HRH where the kids had to clean up after themselves. I do love the resort. I'm a long distance runner my husband was on the track team so it's like the tortoise and the hare running together. My 8 year old likes to run with me sometimes. He also has those fast twitch muscles. I can't keep up with him. It's embarrassing to be outpaced by a 8 year old.
DD and I stayed YC/CL in 2010. The lounge is so small (at least compared with WL), but the staff were very nice and helpful and everything was neat and tidy. I hope that DH likes it, but he comforted me in saying that if we didn't like it, he knows I can get us moved to another resort in a flash;)

KOOK, I wasn't stalking you. I went to the resorts page and saw that you were the last poster on the YC thread. Sounds like the trip is shaping up. Do I remember correctly that you preferred the Cars theming at AoA more than the LM? I gather you have stayed at the YC, but not your DH? We prefer the BC, closer to EPCOT :goodvibes, but it's not a strong preference.
I hope I didn't use the term "stalking" - such negative connotations. I love that you caught me mid-change, it means we're all looking out for each other:grouphug:. We might change often, but our changes are filled with love:lovestruc.

Since you're booked BC/Deluxe, aren't you subscribed to the BC/YC thread? Do you post there much?

Yes, I booked CARS - love the more subtle colors and retro 50s feel and those neon lights are so neat at night. LM is actually just regular rooms and not suites. I've never been a "princess" fan which has been carried down genetically to DD.

I prefer YC because the decor is more appealing to me and the lobby is so much more quiet and calm than at the BC. I think BC appeals more to families than YC, so I think that in general, the YC and the lounge is a little calmer.

Ok...newbie here so please forgive my naïveté .

:welcome: newbie resort changer!

I know your change question has been answered, but have you also considered booking two adjoining rooms? Kids in a two queen room and mom & dad right next door? AoA FS sounds perfect for you and your family though. But if you prefer POR's location and/or amenities, then I would just price out two rooms.

I don't like kids. They annoy me so much, which is odd I guess because I love WDW, but I guess I'm so immersed in Disney that I don't focus on other people. I'm also not really good with them. I have the feeling I won't ever want kids or ever be ready. :sad2: Which I'm perfectly ok with. I can't say the same thing for DBF though.
Yeah, kids are the worse:rotfl:. Like adults, they have their good days and bad. I started student teaching at 20 and thought I would never want my own. I'm an only child and so is my husband. But as I got older, I started seeing more of the positive aspects, and less of the negative. Like MAGIC said, it's always good to leave all your options on the table and not close any doors. The way you feel about something at 22, is not always the way you'll feel at 32.
Kook, it was either the hair gel & gold chains on the men... or the license plates on the cars in the parking lots... that told me where the majority of DIS-ers resided. I can't remember which.

:rotfl:You can spot them a mile away. I love when guests from NJ are in the laundry room - I find it so entertaining. They have so much to chat about and they love to complain, like me.

 step!

Not trying to nitpick - just for the record, the one bedroom Kidani and Bay Lake Tower villas have kings in the master and the FW cabins have only a double in the bedroom.

Are you all ready for your vacation? Looks like next week is going to be a slooooooow academic week for DD. Are you doing your grades this weekend? Looks like we'll both be at the YC? Do our dates overlap?

I can totally respect that. :goodvibes. Some people have kids, just because they think they should, and really have no business being parents at all. :sad2:

I have a friend who is 28, married, she and her DH are DVC owners and have no interest in having kids. Other people tell her she'll change her mind, etc...I just tell her not to have kids if she doesn't really want them!!

I, on the other hand, have wanted kids for as long as I can remember, but I started dating my true soulmate when I was 15 (yes, true love can happen that young :goodvibes ) and I just always knew I wanted to marry him and have babies!!!!

Well, we got married at 23 (about a year after college), had DD8 at 25 and DD5 at 28 and couldn't be happier!!!! :lovestruc

Our 10 year wedding anniversary is this week, and I am soooooo lucky to live the life I have. after our 18 years together, I could not be happier.

Wow, I'm a sap.

Good Morning

I am so far behind I might never catch up :rotfl2:

MAGIC if your old I must be ancient :rotfl:

Times have surely changed in my day everyone seemed to get married young ( I was 20) had kids, bought a house struggled along making ends meet but were happy in our little sub division bubble of a life in suburbia :lmao:

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

MAGIC if your old I must be ancient :rotfl:
Hi. :wave2: I spit my coffee out when I read that. :lmao: Maybe we shall call you Sue the Dinosaur (or the other fossil Lucy... or Dino for that matter ).

I was the kid in this scenario. My childhood was like the Cleaver's. Idyllic. We didn't have a whole lot but we were middle class, and very rich in love, family, friends, neighborhood, and my first WDW trip at age 11. And I am so rich in knowing it is safe in my memory. :lovestruc

______________

MouseMommy: You surely do sound blessed. Sending early Happy Anniversary wishes to you and DH.

Hannah: I am glad that you and DBF are doing so well. That's great. So he is 30? Ahhh, it's all good, you have plenty of time to see where life takes you. ...I thought I was bad with kids to at your age too, little ones scared me! Plus I was a confirmed career girl. All I ever heard was, “when are the babies coming?" Ugh.:sad2: ...NOW kids FLOCK to me, and I could play with them for hours at a time. :upsidedow I would have never expected it. :scared1:

KOOK: I miss my NJ comerades. They are so colorful compared to Floridians as a whole. When I fly back home to NJ to visit, I always know I am at the right gate at and airport by the lively chatter. Really! So much fun! :lovestruc PS -- I was pretty darned foo-fooed back in the day myself. :thumbsup2

DH's band was out late playing a show last night...I just got home from work...and now he is too tired from being with the kids all morning to talk trip details again!! UGH!:headache:

Ladies when do you think they will release next years rates? I really really want someone to tell me I am doing the right thing by booking the cruise first, and then resort later. :confused3 help!!!

You all must think I am loopy!! :rolleyes1 I think I am loopy!!! :upsidedow

Also, I really messed up I think. I let go of a Le Cellier lunch ressie because I totally bought into the "rapunzel is at Akershus" rumor. So now we have a lunch ressie there. BUT, I think it is only a rumor, and we have CRT booked for the next day!!! Duh!!:headache::headache::headache: Too many princesses back to back...I don't want to hear "Mommy that Belle doesn't look like yesterday's Belle!" So....this is me now :surfweb: constantly stalking the dining reservations trying to get something that fits better. I think DH is secretly annoyed because he really wanted to try Le Cellier. :sad2:

So up and down, I think I am losing my disney marbles!!!:faint:

Happy Saturday Afternoon!

Magic & Christine...glad y'all had a nice time yesterday:thumbsup2

Mousemommy...guess we weren't the early risers this morning;)

Shelia...glad age is all relevant. My students at school think 40 is ancient:laughing: They have no clue!

Kook...Peasant level, kook??? You poor soul:sad2: However did you do it?

Faith wanted me to post her picture...she and Bill took off early this morning and went over to Hilton Head to fish the flats. She was so proud of her Red Fish. For a girl who loves princesses and dolls, she has no problem getting dirty! Guess that's what happens when you have 2 brothers!

Hmmmm....you do have a dilemm, don't you? JMO...but back to back princesses might be a little much. Guess it just depends on your children. Maybe LeCellier will pop up again and your DH will be happy. My husband would be a bit upset, too. He's a big steak person.

DBF is almost 30. He has a couple of years. He turns 28 in August. I know I shouldn't worry, but DBF is very adamant on having kids so I feel like I need to make the decision if we get engaged. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't worry at all.

Thanks for all the support guys! I hope it will be at least 10 years from now when/if I have kids! We'll see what DBF has to say about that.

At CR CL for our final 2 nights. No upgrades here but our room was ready at 10, the weather is great and our MKV is fabulous. Life is good :)

Think a change is coming for August. Probably a Poly CL and AKL CL split. Hmmm I think that's what my ticker already says. I know for sure we will split. LOVE resort hopping!

Have a great weekend RCers!

Heather love the pic of Faith. A girl after my own heart, I love to fish and haven' t been in many years. :thumbsup2

First off I need to learn how to multi-quote. I am a fast learner if anyone can explain it. :confused3

Kook, I lurk around the YC/BC thread but until we get back from California I am not really obsessing about that trip yet. No worries...I will become obsessed soon! :upsidedow

Someday, I think you should plan a CL trip, a night, CL at each resort. You can then post reviews of your trip! What do you think?!

magic, you aren't old! I can tell at least from your posts, you are young at heart! Next time you come up NJ way, I will grab Jeanette and Janet and we will have a RC meet, NJ style!

Nice save to magic and Kook for calling people from NJ, colorful and chatty. We have been called worse  Real Housewives of NJ (which I DO NOT watch) has not been helpful for NJ's image!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. We did some yard work earlier, and are both tired. A good excuse to do nothing and curl up with a good book after dinner while my DH watches the "subway series". (that's the Yankees vs the Mets for those of your not from the area)!
